I may sound like an idoit, but Taragarth is my favorite weapon but i dont know how to get it.
I know sw1h37 but i want to play a game without cheating. Does anyone know how to get Taragarth? If so please tell me.

Is that from a MOD or something? I've never heard of it.

Actually, that is quite the puzzle. :hmm: I've been through the entirety of BG2 more than a couple times and have never come across this sword. I have determined though that it is in the unmodded game (you had the right item code, BTW :thumb: ), but it cannot be bought in any stores or found in any bags of holding. All that leaves is three possibilities:
</font> Some NPC or other creature is carrying it. It's in a container or lying on the ground in some area. It was cut out of the game for some reason.
I'll start searching the areas, but there are just too many creatures to search even for me. :heh:

I think it was probably cut - I did a quick reference search in Near Infinity and it found new hits. Quite a nice-looking weapon, though.

What makes it your favorite sword? What does it do, what are it's stats, and what does it look like?

Well, I didn't find it in any of the SoA areas, and it was definitely included in the SoA part of my installation, but I have an :idea: .

It's basically a +1 bastard sword that also gives you the benefits of the Ring of Fire Resistance and the Cloak of Non-Detection. It'd be pretty good for a scouting ranger.

I remember a similar sword that you can get from one of the insane persons in the Underdark, if you cast a heal spell on him after releasing him from the imprisonment device.

According to the Unfinished Business Mod's ReadMe (http://mods.pocketplane.net/readmes/readme_ub.html#items), Taragarth is one of several items omitted. The complete list is:
Boots of the West Boots of Hastened Departure Shazzellim, Scimitar +1 Bala's Axe Taragarth, Bastard Sword +1 Wolfskin Bag Websack Wand Wraithform spell
The Unfinished Business mod allows you to retrieve these items in-game without recourse to cheating. Whether you want to have them available through the BoM Item Pack as well is entirely up to you, oli.

Heh, after consulting with Icelus it seems I was too hasty saying it is still unavailable - Unfinished Business brings it back, as The Magpie posted. It is added to AR1102 (Merella's cabin), container 6.

I think you get it in UB when you are attacked by the guy at the top of the map in Brynnlaw.
