What are your favorite & least favorite things about ToB.............

Mine are: Story - Amellysan :)
And: ummm... Voice Acting for Some Characters is pretty bad(Sendai), but I'd have to say is the quick speed of Saradush; I loved the feel of that part of the game.

Liked: breaking the siege of Saradush

Disliked: the tests of the Pocket Plane made little sense

Favorite- Finally finishing the BG saga.

Least Favorite- Beating the crap out of Balthazaar the first run-through. His AI was terrible; all he did was run around like a headless chicken while I beat him to death. It was pretty disappointing, really, so ooh rah for mods.

When I played Balthazar didn't even get to run around; just a few Dragon Breaths & Horrid Wiltings and he was done for :p

Least favorite: the somewhat predictable storyline. It took me 2 minutes to figure who the big bad guy was and I'm not that smart.

Favorite thing: taking Sarevok along. How cool was that?

Favourite: Cespenar and the idea of a Pocket Plane. ^^

Least Favourite: It takes forever to decide who I should kick out when I pick up Sarevok.

Favourites has to be Watchers Keep (what a truly amazing dungeon) as well as the ability to pick up ye ol' Sarevok.

Least favourite...hm... Probably the overall feeling of power gaming and no role playing throughout ToB. It's just fighting all the way in my experience.

Wild Mages and HLAs... I'm not too keen on ToB.

Favourite: I have to say watchers keep. Except the wild and dead-magic zones when I played through with a solo sorcerer.

Least Favourite: Draconis. It should be illegal to cast invisibility that quickly.

fav: the atmosphere and locations in ToB

least fav: the fact that by the time you get to ToB, nothing is remotely challenging.

Favorite thing: Watcher's Keep was lot of fun.

Least Favorite: The horrible rape of Bhaalspawn saga. Seriously.

Favorite: Sarevok especially when you turn him good.

Least Favorite: The immense power you have, the ease of the "epic battles", how short TOB seems, how it turns into a hack n' slash game.

Favourite stuff: Sarevok joins you, and the super upgradeable weapons, such as the ravager.... or clangeddins rune hammer, and of course becoming the lord of murder was pretty hot too.

Least favourite thing: having to kill that delightful dragon in watchers keep to complete the staff of the ram (at least i think it was the staff of the ram)

Favourite - SoA, especially the underdark bits (not a fan of mindflayers though). Also fighting dragons is fun, and Watchers Keep, and the upgradeable weapons in ToB.

Least Favourite - ToB itself, its length, its challenge, the fact that you only get the ingredients for the super upgradeable weapons right near the end. And - being level drained! why is it permanent, and why does the priest spell negative plane protection have such a pathetically short duration compared to Chaotic Commands?

FAVOURITE: Becoming the lord of murder, and WK

LEAST FAVOURITE: Melissan, I hated how this good story came to be this way. It would be quite nice to battle Bhaal himself over the essance pool. And why Solar waits for that long to come, and the whoel point of solar ending the battle. Who the hell is Solar to end the battle. Also at the Throne of Bhaal (the area). The essances are just flowing there. Melissan can jump into them, then why the main character (as if his intelligance is -25) streching his back and looking around rather than claiming them for himself. One could really find a lot of more annoying stuff about the end of the storyline and the final battle.

Favorite: The voice of the elemental demon in (I think) the second level of WK. "Oh where shall I start where shall I st- *GASP* ...I think I'll start with *you*." That line was so believably evil.

Least Favorite: I felt like it was an overkill altogether. I understand that the game was made so that you could pick it up from the start if that was your preference, but c'mon...+3 weapons were as common as water, all the NPCs you could ever want were available in one central location, and the expansion duplicated so many of the super-rare items from BG2, thus killing the very thing that made them unique if you carried over your BG2 character. And Sarevok: While he is undoubtedly one of the coolest figures in the series, picking him up as a party member just doesn't make much sense with regards to the previous storyline. BG1, TotSC, and BG2 solidified the fact that Sarevok is indeed your enemy. Undoing this in a 2-minute dialog at the very beginning of the game just feels so dirty.

From this perspective, I feel like ToB downplayed all your accomplishments in the prior games.

FAVORITE - Definitely Watcher's Keep, and I really like Cespenar, just a fun and entertaining little character.

Least Favorite
** The linearity of most of the rest of the expansion. The battles are enjoyable and all, but I really miss having a world to explore like I did in Amn.
** Knowing that the game will soon come to an end. Things like forging FoA +5 isn't all that exciting because I know I'll only get to use it for a few battles before I'm done :(

Favorite: Saradush. Beginning 'til breaking the siege.

Least Favorite: Saemen was still alive... and I still got no vengeance...

Favorite:

Well a lot actually, but what springs into mind is Sarevok's and Viconia's redemption.

Oh, and the sequence with the 3 adventurers in Abazigal's Lair really cracks me up :D

The closure of the saga and the epilog where you can see what happens to all NPC's in the party.

Least Favorite: Saemon Haverian is still alive. And the ridiculous amount of +3 weapons lowly guards drop.

Favourite: 9th level spells - finally!!!...and Watchers Keep - that was one cool dungeon
Least Favourite: the combat orientatedness of it all, and the relative lack of quest variety

Favorite -Bondari, Nanoc, and Tim. Simply hilarious episode. Also liked Viconia's aligment change (not too easy to achieve) and some areas had great atmosphere, especially Saradush.

Least favorite - unbalanced Bhaalspawn battles: some were too easy compared to others. Great weapons etc. which you didn't really get to use. Many aspects of Sarevok were also poorly written, although liked him in action.

Really, when Viconia's alignment changed, I was happy, but she couldn't use her holy symbol which really sucked...

but she couldn't use her holy symbol which really sucked...I've never taken Viccy through TOB, but I'm pretty sure the alignment change is part of the vanilla game, no? Part of her TOB romance?

If so, I'm surprised the developers didn't take the holy symbol into account and include some content to give her a new one. I suppose you could always use Shadow Keeper to replace the holy symbol with a functional alternative.

It's quite easy to get a new symbol. Just dismiss her and have her join again when she asks if you really want to dismiss her.

She gets a new symbol according to alignment if she dies.

Well, that's a quirky, yet helpful bit of information. (EDIT: Apparently I forgot how to use quotes right :) ).

lol. I haven't done Viconia's alignment change yet, but I'm not sure I would really like it. Seems too pushy to get her to be good. Same with Saerevok(SP). I guess that's another thing I don't like about ToB.

But I do love getting to use Saerevok in a 2handers only party :) .
