People have been wondering about how bioware will make ToB challenging since you will be going up to levels around 40. Sure they're making all these new monsters such as the demogorgon but will it be enough. What im thinking is instead of making more monsters why not have more partys of high level adventurers(mercenaries) with items as powerful if not more than your party but cant be taken when they die.

Wasn't it more fun and challenging to fight those partys in BG 1 and 2 than it was those hordes of vampires? To make ToB challenging they should have instead of more monsters more level 50+ adventurer partys. Children of bhaal hire mercenaries.

You got a good point there.... Some people think that how higher level they can reach in a game, how better it will be, but for me that's not true. After playing BG2 2 times I now play BG1 again I really enjoy starting all over again....

I think it's not realistic that in the same realm, some years later then in BG1, where there wheren't much high level NPC's but some years later in ToB the realm is full of high level demons etc.....

But it hink the game's gonna be great, however I think after ToB it's time to start over again....

I have to say that i have jus started as a solo shapeshifter and it is really difficult!
This is more fun however than prancing through the game with the superhuman Paladin who beats both the monk and the fighter for some reason. (though don't get me wrong i do love my paladin and i am more one at heart than i am druid.)

I would love to be challenged more in TOB.
