Does the ale have any use? I maen as a potion or something. I have tried drinking it and looking for some kind of affect but I see none. I have read that this is what you give the three boys in Umar Hills if you agree to buy them some booze. But I see the ale other places. I would think it has some other use besides the boys.

It is involved in the quest in the Umar Hills. Other than that. It has no use.

It has no use in the unmodded game.
If you have the Ruad mod, you can use it to give the Ras +2 Long Sword some extra abilities. Not that great really.

The drunk cleric of Talos in the graveyard refers to it, but when I took some to him, he never responded. A shame really, I would have really liked some kind of ale dialogues in this game ;)

To go the evil path, you should get drunk in every place that has an inn or bar and terrorise everyone! Unfortunately this was not implemented as you should loose reputation for getting drunk all the time.

If you are a Ranger don't give the kids the ale!
You will lose your stronghold (so I hear).

One of the thieves in the thief guild quests refers to wanting a drink and asks if you have any. Since I found ale in the Renal's thieves guild I would think it would have been something you could give him...
