"An assertion failed in ChSound.cpp at line 4905"

I checked the SP troubleshooting, and the Bioware page it linked to didn't mention an assertion error at this line. It occurs when I try to run the game, right before the thing should load. Is there any way to fix this beyond a reinstall? It took a long time to install the mods... (none of which should affect the intro movies or title screen).
