i really like SoA/ToB but after completing it a few times I feel it is time for a change within the game. Does anybody have any recommended mods, downloadable portraits, Npc's etc. I think it would really give me better reasons than "the game rocks" to keep playing it. I have been to see the Weidu Mods and looked at some other mods but which are cool and which are absolute crap.

The Darkest Day is barely worth a go, but it's huge and IMO not very well done. I've heard Tortured Souls is pretty good.

Try Kelsey and Solofein. I'm a huge fan of the Item Upgrade mod, Ease-of-Use, Ascension, and a few of the Weapon/Store packs.

Ascension, Revised Hell Trials, Kelsey, Flirt Packs, and Oversight spring immediately to mind.

Try as many as you want. Just make sure they are all WeiDU mods, that way you can be sure they'll be compatible with each other. Heh if you could only see my WeiDU log file...14 different mods with various features within each mod makes up one long list.

A few suggestions though:
Kelsey
Tactics
Ascension
Redemption
Ease of Use
Item Upgrade
Dungeon-B-Gone :rolling:

Whats Shadows Over Soubar like?
I downloaded this ages ago but haven't got around to playing it yet, although I might start if people recommend it.

I am very hesitant to add mods to my game, so the few I have a very well done. I would not hesitate to add Kelsey. It's like he's always belonged in the game when you add him. Plus, you get a sorcerer, and there were no sorcerer NPC's in the original game. Soulefein is also OK, but you don't get him until very late in the game (I usually complete all the optional quests in chapter 2/3 before going to the asylum) and unless you're playing an evil party, he really doesn't fit in.

I've also added the fix to bring grandmastery back to what it was, which really helps out fighters a lot. Before that fix, there was no point in playing a fighter. He wasn't much better in fighting than a ranger or paladin, and didn't get the spells or special abilities.

I have not installed the bigger, quest-type MODs, but I have installed the Ease of Use (Highly Recommended), Soulfien (sp) and Tactics (Highly Recommended). Tactics is very nice in that it makes just about most of enemies a little tougher, so if you played through once or twice, it will raise the bar a little for you.

I really did not care for the Dungeon Be Gone MOD, it never really seemed to work for me, plus I think that it stiffs you on some XP and Equipment, so I just suck it up and play through for about an hour. I did install the Darkest Day and that was a mistake, it was kinda buggy and the one quest that I did just took forever and there was no way to get back to the standard game without finishing the quest first, which really sucked. Although I did like some of the extra NPC's that where included.
