This is a last-ditch attempt to salvage a probably un-salvageable situation.
I have SoA installed and have been playing it happily for some time; however, I decided, after reading about it here, that I wanted to install the ToB add-on. So, I bought it, through Amazon.com for a reasonably decent price. And it came. Unfortunately, it came in a Windows version. I have a Mac. (I KNOW that I specified the MAC version, but, there you are.)
I'm just wondering if there is any way, short of returning the pckg and waiting for a) a different, Mac-type version to be sent, or b) my money to be returned, find a different, compatible version, order it, and wait for it to arrive, that I can actually PLAY this game… NOW! (You may or may not have noted a slight note of IMPATIENCE here.)
In other words, does anyone know if there is a way to use the Windows disc on my MAC? If you do, I would be your slave for life (right AFTER I finish playing the game, of course)! :D
Thanks for any advice, good or bad,
D

I don't know if it can be done, but heres my advice.

Join Satan and get a PC with Windows.

If you have Virtual PC, you may be able to swing it but I have my doubts. Try Balduran's Adventurin' Spa and Grill (http://ire.mainecoon.net/yabbse/index.php)--it's a Mac IE community and many of the regulars there (Scar, Loriel, devArrah et al) will likely be able to provide insight to your questions.

People still atempt to game on a mac? What a waste of money.

Anyway, Cam has your best bet with the Virtual PC app, but the game might not like it, and may end up all buggy. :rolling:

Send it back and play SoA in the meantime... you probably won't finish it by the time you get the Mac ToB back anyway. ;)

Thanks to one and all who answered (even the …ahem… die-long-and-hard Windozers). I didn't even know about the Mac group - do they have lots of mods & stuff? Goodness, I'll just have to check them out, but fear not, they couldn't be any nicer than you guys (just smarter …er cooler …I mean… Oh bother!) Never mind, I'll be back! And thanks (again) for all the fish!

OK, I did as advised and re-bought the MAC version of ToB. Attempted to install it, and got a message saying I needed to have the FULL version of SoA installed. Fine. I re-installed SoA using the 'unsupported' install option mentioned in the READ ME (the one where you use the MAXIMUM install option on discs 2,3, & 4). It still says I don't have the FULL version installed. Have I finally switched over from having a 'senior moment' to having a 'senior life' or am I missing something else here? Please, its now been 3 or 4 weeks since I started this 'simple' project and I am seriously considering a wardrobe shift to short white jackets with long, looooong sleeves!
Thanks,
D :o
