View Full Version : A weird note I got

Ok, like, in the Temple ruins area, in the actual temple proper, I found this weird note by some guy by the name of Toltheben (sp?) saying something about a cache of money he stashed in the surrounding area. Unfortunately, the note was ripped in half, and I found the second part. However, I was able to decipher what the note meant and figure out where the treasure was, not to mention with the help of the handy-dandy tab button! :D
Anyways, I leave the temple and go to where the treasure's supposed to be, but much to my surprise, I couldn't click on it or anything. I pressed tab to make sure that I was correct, and the section lit up blue, but I could make the little hand thingy with the small gold circle come on, so I could grab the stuff, but that didn't work either! :( What's the deal here? Does anyone know what I'm talking about, and do I need to find the second part of the note or something? Help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You can only find it if you are a ranger - I think - it's part of the stronghold quests

The annoying thing about that note is that it's a red herring for non-rangers - it's part of the ranger's stronghold quests.

Oh, that bites. Well, if it's a part of the ranger stronghold, why would they have someone who's not a ranger, like me, to be able to find it? *kicks the note*

[EDIT] WEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 25 posts! Second gem! Yay!!!!!!!!!! :spin:

Because of clerics that could later dual to rangers and because of multiplayer.

I thought that you could only get one stronghold, at least my ranger/cleric does!

You can only get one stronghold, but a cleric that duals to a ranger might not have completed the cleric stronghold first so that they could get the ranger stronghold. Of course then there are people who use a multiple stronghold patch (or the patch that allows you to get all the strongholds), but they probably didn't count on that.

I haven't played as a ranger-type yet - is the stronghold worth it? are the related quests interesting?

Second hand info: :hmm:

I heard that if you use multiplayer you can get as many strongholds as you have self-made NPCs plus your main.

Just put the self-made NPC in front/top when doing the quest(s).
