Extremist Wed, 18th Apr '01, 4:21pm I hope not. Cheater! KILL KILL KILL !!! caleb Thu, 19th Apr '01, 4:07am I think theres something in sorcerers place that says you can keep your levels from the experience cap remover but I dont remember where.Perhaps a moderator can post the link. Blackthorne TA Thu, 19th Apr '01, 4:14am Here's an excerpt from the IGN Vault ToB chat log: <Jonric> <BhaalsFavoriteSon> How will the team address characters that have used the exp cap remover? <Bio_Mark> got it. (ha ha macro) <Bio_Mark> If you have a character from BG2 that you used an XP cap remover on then no problem. If you coming straight from BG1 then you will be rolled back to 161000 XP though no level penalty. Leander Mon, 2nd Jul '01, 12:57am Hello. Has anyone else noticed that if you use an XP Cap Remover and use the console to amp up the level, at 41st level for a Fighter/Mage/Thief, the wizard spells for the Mage part drop to ZERO Spells per Level and the Thief Backstab Multiplier drops to x1. Not that with a 41st level fighter it really matters, but an interesting note nontheless. Presumably that happens with single-classed and other combinations, so I would advise caution with using a XP Cap Remover with "Straight" Games. Also, the Wizard Spells/Level problem can be solved with Shadowkeeper, which on a dark afternoon I discovered will actually accept at least 120, yes One-Hundred and Twenty, Spells per level at the LEAST and still run in the Game, so for a screw-around Single Player Game you too can feel what its like to be truely The Child Of A God. No Idea if it works in Multi-Player Games, and NO, I don't recommend trying it. Cheatings all well and good, but MP stuff like that could earn you a righteous Butt-Kicking For Goodness. Pyrion Mon, 2nd Jul '01, 6:17am The reason level 41 mages don't have any spells is because the 2DA file that controls the mage's max memorizations per level simply doesn't have anything for level 41. As a result, once you hit level 41, you lose all your spells. I'm quite sure that's the same reason backstabbing doesn't work right with a level 41 thief either. I tried it out, and then set the XP cap back down to 8000000, I may try it again with -1 and write an addition to the 2DA file, but unless I solo through Watcher's Keep (not gonna try THAT again), there's no way in hell that I'll get a high enough level to take advantage of that. If I had left the cap on, I would have have maxed out even before I fought Bhodi. That would have sucked and I would have felt cheated out of experience. Wildfire Mon, 2nd Jul '01, 8:22am Leander - you can download a level 50 patch from this site which enables all characters to follow the rules up to level 50. That would solvethe problem of your backstab and mage spelss. It can be downloaded here: http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG2/index_editors2.htm Have fun! :D |
