View Full Version : BG Tutu help
Jaguar Thu, 11th Nov '04, 4:26am I flipped a coin and decided to post this in this forum since I am playing with ToB installed. Everything for my game was installed in the following order:
Baldur's Gate
Baldur's Gate: TotSC
BG 1 Fixpack
TotSC Game Text Update
BG TotSC Official Patch
Baldur's Gate II: SoA
Baldur's Gate II: ToB
BGII ToB Official Patch
BG1Tutu v4
BG1Tutu Fixpack
Tutu Tweak Pack
ShadowKeeper
BG1 NPC Project v6
Herbs and Potions Add-in for BG and BG1Tutu
I am having a problem when I cast the spell Entangle. If any of my characters fail to make their first saving throw, the become stuck in the brush. Any saving throw afterwards doesn't free my characters. And even after the spell is over, the afflicted characters still remain caught in their own little sections of brush.
I have reloaded and this has happened twice. Everything I installed was in the proper order, with the exception of the Herbs and Potions Add-in and possibly ShadowKeeper. I would appreciate any help I can get.
Apeman Thu, 11th Nov '04, 9:34am I'm playing the exact same game with the exact same mods now (no shadowkeeper though), but I don't have the problem. Yet I think I installed the Totsc patch before the fix and I baldurdashed it. Also I don't see the BGII baldurdash on your list (not sure that's needed though)
Which version of the Tutu fixpack did you install because they bring out new ones once in a while.
Jaguar Thu, 11th Nov '04, 9:45am I used the BG1Tutu Fixpack v2, and no, I didn't use baldurdash or the SP fixpack for BGII.
This is my first time installing Tutu and I suppose I forgot to uses the fixes on BGII. Do you think that the problem may lie there?
CamDawg Thu, 11th Nov '04, 3:23pm Possibly. I would suggest a few changes... the TotSC official patch should have gone prior to the fixpack and game text update, BG2 Baldurdash stuff after the official patch, use the latest Tutu Fixpack (v5), and I would put Tutu Tweaks dead last in the install order so it will modify content from the other mods.
As for what specifically is causing the entangle problem I would suspect the lack of Baldurdash, though it's also possible the older version of the Tutu Fixpack has something to do with it.
Jaguar Sun, 14th Nov '04, 11:37am Thanks Cam, that fixed it. But I have a new problem now. Whenever my mage does a particular swing with her staff, she kind of goes invisible, except for her staff. Not really a problem, just annoying.
I also have a problem where most people who join my party initiate dialog for being kicked out, even though I didn't, and they stay in the group. Now, this isn't a problem, except for Khalid and Jaheria, where even if the one initiating the leaving dialog doesn't leave the party, the other one does. And I can never get both to join the party. Now, the problem with Khalid and Jaheria was on the old save I tried to bring across, but I have since ditched that and started anew. However, when I asked Imoen to join, as well as the group that you can train with in Candlekeep, they all initiate the leaving dialog when they join (except Montaron and Xzar for some reason).
Anyway, any help (if possible) is appreciated. And the new order and collection of mods I have installed and what order they were installed in is:
Baldur's Gate I
Baldur's Gate I: Tales of the Sword Coast
BG1: TotSC Patch
BG1: TotSC DirectX 8 Patch
BG1 Fix Pack - v1.1.0 (Baldurdash)
BG1: TotSC Game Text Update - v1.1.0 (Baldurdash)
Herbs & Potions Add-in for BG1 and BG1Tutu - v1.0.0
Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn
Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal
BG2: ToB Patch
BG2: ToB Fix Pack - v1.1.2 (Baldurdash)
BG2 ToB Game Text Update - v1.2.0 (Baldurdash)
BG2 Inoshiro's Better Looking Robe of Vecna
BG2 Shut Up 'You Must Gather Your Party...'
BG2 Wormy Hellcar's Universal Ioun Stones
Cal-Culator - v1.0.4
Cleric Remix - v0.8.8
Herbs & Potions Add-in for BG2 - v1.0.2
NPC Kit Pack - v0.7.2
Oversight - v3.0.0
PnP Celestials - v3.0.0
Refinements - v1.0.5
Restore Drow Innate Abilities - v2.0.0
Revised Hell Trials - v1.0.3
Rouge Rebalancing Kit - v3.1.1
Virtue - v1.5.0
Ding0 Tweak - v1.1.0
G3 Tweaks - v7.0.0
BG1 Tutu - v4.0.0
BG1 NPC Project - v6.0.0
Restored BG1 Casting Sounds - v1.0.0
BG1 Tutufix - v5.0.0
Tutu Tweak Pack - v8.0.0
Now I did pick and choose some of the specific tweaks that I did and didn't want, but there were so many, I am not quite sure which ones.
CamDawg Sun, 14th Nov '04, 9:54pm I think the mage-disappearing-with-staff-swinging bit may be caused by the avatar change components in BG1 NPC. If it's not that, I have no clue what could change it, though I'll confess I don't recognize any of the mods between Cal-culator and Baldurdash.
As for the all kicked out dialogues, that's another new one on me. It's possible that BG1 NPC and the fixpack are fighting with one another over a 2da file. Perhaps using the order Tutu > Fixpack > Restored Casting Sounds > BG1 NPC > Tutu Tweaks would resolve it.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Andyr Mon, 15th Nov '04, 12:50am We didn't touch mage avatars in BG1 NPC, so I'm not sure it's us... I am not sure what is, up, though. I'll have a think.
Jaguar Mon, 15th Nov '04, 3:44am Okay then. So how do remove the Tutu parts so that I can re-install them?
And for the three mods between Baldurdash and Cal-culator, they all came from the Baldurdash site, in the tweaks section. But aside from the shutting up of the voice, none of them should affect BG1, should they? I mean, neither the Robe of Vecna nor any Ioun stones appear in BG1...
Andyr Mon, 15th Nov '04, 9:01pm If you double click on the mod setup icons (the programs named setup-whatever.exe) in your game directory you'll have the option to uninstall, reinstall or whatever the components of the mods.
The other stuff doesn't sound like it affects BG1, so don't worry.
