View Full Version : Turning Amn to Stone
Malovae Wed, 25th Feb '04, 6:04pm There is very little reason to make this topic except to say what I'm going to do.
I have decided to play an evil necromancer, hell bent on creating a city of statues. Has this been done before. I know people have played with the intent to kill everyone, but this is different.
I'll be playing as a Sorcerer and using SK to give myself loads of lvl 6 spells (flesh to stone and Stone to Flesh) and lvl 4 spells (greater malison) and remove everthing else. Wish me luck!
Baronius Wed, 25th Feb '04, 6:42pm Some Lower Resistance might be handy either. Will be FUN! :D Make screenshots! Everyone must see them, I can provide FTP for them if you wish. Good luck ;)
Shura Wed, 25th Feb '04, 10:59pm LOL! A great idea!
Screen shots will be very nice!
Rastor Wed, 25th Feb '04, 11:04pm This would be a great idea. Sounds fun.
Malovae Thu, 26th Feb '04, 2:54am I'll get to work on it in the morning. Never sent screenshots before.
Shadow Steele Sun, 29th Feb '04, 12:58am Sounds like a very interesting consept. Hope it works out. How is it going with the quest?
Deathmage Sun, 29th Feb '04, 1:16am I once made a custom spell - five shots, turns enemys to stone, no save. Pretty handy, that.
But good luck with your quest!
Niskers Mon, 1st Mar '04, 6:34am Only down side to this is that in some areas it just seems to spawn peasants constantly. kill 'em stone 'em they just keep coming!
david w Mon, 1st Mar '04, 2:11pm I've found that as well. I killed every single NPC in Waukeen's Promenade outside of the Adventurer's Mart, but when I returned there a few days later to buy some items, the NPCs had returned. So I killed them again, returned a few days later... they're back again!
Maybe there's a limit on how many times they respawn but currently I've cleared the Promenade three times and the NPCs still return after a day or two.
Dendri Mon, 1st Mar '04, 2:24pm Some plans are better not put to action, like slaying everyone.
But this sounds intriguing. You have an artist's soul. :rolling:
But wouldnt a transmuter be more fitting than a necro?
Zephyr Angel Mon, 1st Mar '04, 2:37pm Well, you do realise that if you go around spell-throwing in Amn, you will expect alot of unnecessary Cowled Wizard encounters and the Amnian Guards. I had a very hard time taking care of a few Amnian Enforcers when I turned the whole Council building to a mass burial site...
And the Cowled Wizards are the most hardest to kill.
Not to mention that when you go around slaying, the Knights will pop out of nowhere to deal some h
holy smiting...
Loerand Mon, 1st Mar '04, 4:38pm Canæt you just buy a license for that?
Niskers Mon, 1st Mar '04, 5:29pm A license for holy smiting? I wish!
You can buy a license for magic, the only problem being that if you're doing evil stuff they come after you eventually anyway.
Malovae Mon, 1st Mar '04, 5:35pm heh, still haven't gotton around to starting my little quest - real life has caught up big time :(
Will the stone statues stay if the peasents are respawned? Its not worth doing if not.
About using a necromacer - I'm really using the sorcerer class but I think of it as draing life out of the victims or imprisoning their souls - so I call him a necro.
:EDIT: this is totally unrelated but is it possible to make a sword that casts a spell that turns the victim to stone (no save) on every hit? Like dispel of the holy avenger?
Jhonka Mon, 1st Mar '04, 6:32pm Not nearly as cool as the above plan or anything, but a Chromatic Orb made me a nice mugger statue in the Bridge District yesterday :D
I refuse to shatter him. He shall remain there as testament to what becomes of my enemies!
Niskers Mon, 1st Mar '04, 9:58pm Didn't mean to rip off your quest (okay...so I did), but I was so curious I went a head and started it (with a specialist mage, actually). That's how I found out about the peasants. I've just spent so much time running away from people I haven't checked if they go away, but everywhere else the statues have stayed. the Sea's Bounty looks particularily nice right now. Take that Ployer! (always hated that guy) The down side in the constant attacks by those pesky enforcers and wizards. But I'm finding TimeStop quite useful. On the other hand this is quite tedious, so I don't know if I'll finish it....but I think I'll make a point of stoning Anomen before I quit....
Best of luck and great idea once again, sorry for rushing a head of you I just couldn't resist.
