OK. Disappointed not to get a reply to my posting below, but I'll try again.

I've come back to BG after a break and would like to start again with the best of everything - making it pretty much a new game.

I've found that the BG Trilogy is available on the iegmc.mirror.intermedia.com.sg site, but as teamBG is down (and they never did send me the CD I paid for) can someone please let me know what the BG Trilogy actually is before I use the best part of a month's broadband ration downloading 700Mb.

Alternatively are there any links to an explanation of it which are still up?

Thanks

By using it, you can play the whole Baldur's Gate saga from Gorion's death to Melissan's, with the graphical level of BG2 (and kits etc.)

I personally recommend BG1Tutu that knows less than BGT (BG1Tutu allows you to play only BG1 but with the BG2 features like graphics kits etc.) but has less bugs, and several mods (tweaks, quest packs, banter packs etc.) have been made for it. Consider this as a subjective opinion though.

If you want neither Tutu nor Trilogy, you can still try Dark Side or the Grey Clan mod, and other mods are under development too.

BGT lets you play BG & TOSC together with BGII SOA & TOB as if it was one whole massive game (so basically you play BG then move on to BGII directly....and you can't go back to BG or visit its areas just so you know)

Tutu converts the BG engine to the BG II engine so you get to play BG as if it was BGII, both games remain separate, but you can't play BG II while playing BG Tutu unless you have a second install of BG II, and the download for it is much smaller in comparison to BGT

I haven't played either one so I can't really say which one I would prefer playing, but it's really up to you
