He's got extremely high magic resistance, so don't bother with magic on him, unless you cast a number of spells that will bring his defenses down first. It's much easier to just get your fighters to hack at it till it dies.

You've got to use +5 weapons, preferably Runehammer, Gram Sword of the Grief, Psions Blade. I killed him like that. I always have at least one character handy with hammers (there are always some good hammers around and some monster can only be beaten by crushing weapons - clay golem) Also, Spellstrike removes all protections.

Don't really know, but I think bows are not done as good as in Icewind Dale. I didn't even use them, exept when I had Kivan in TDD.
Still, I think there's got to be some way for arrows to hurt hugh level monsters, right? maybe arrows of piercing, and a nice long bow, perhaps the Heartseeker? I honestly don't know...

It is the arrows enchantment level that counts when to hit high level enemies. Thus its very hard to use ranged weapons the tough enemies.
I never really had any problem with the Ravager but I had a very fighter oriented party so I just hacknslashed my way to fortune. Greater Whirlwind is great.

There are some "unlimited ammo weapons" like Tansheron's short bow +3, Short bow of Gesen +4 and Firetooth +5. All of these missile weapons can hurt the Ravager, but I don't recommend using missile weapons on him. I always prefer meele. It is mutch faster that way.

xenacor: you posted that message in the wrong topic this topic was posted on the 14th the one your talking about was on the 15th :) joacqin melee beats him faster but solo archers dont tend to last long in melee battles of levels that high my archer stands a better chance doing what he's suposed to do.

Huh? What? The topic link Xenecor gave was made back in August. 24th I think.

But funny, I never had any problem with the Ravager. Just sent in fighters, summoned misc. creatures to distract the bone blades, casted Lower Resistances with my sorcerer and Imoen, and lambasted it with magics. Took me 5 minutes I think.

I put all of my fighters on the ravager (after I dispelled his globe of blades) and summoned monsters to preoccupy the bone blades. When there was too many of the bone blades Abi Dalzim's Horrid Wilting will get rid of or do a good bit of damage to them. I believe about 2 magic missiles will kill a bone blade.... maybe 3. Just concentrate your strength on the Ravager. I think there is a thread about this with a lot more different techniques. Maybe that will give you more help.

I guess I should have just done this in the first place.
