Ok, I just got into chapter 6 of SoA, and my level 26 Swashbuckler already have Use Any Item, and with the Scarlet Ninja-to and Belm I got 4 attacks per round, each does an average damage of 25+. Guess what?I got BORED! The thief stronghold just sucks, the Jaheira romance SUCKS (oh man, I could just hardly believe that Jaheira asked me to sleep with her all in a SUDDEN), Haer'Dalis is boring, and the biggest problem is that I can hack through any kind of obstacle by myself (100 damage per round, not mention Whirlwind attack + traps!), and with the UAI I'm tempted to use the Armour of Hart (AC -2), Helm of Balduran, and other l33t stuff to make my Swashy get -16 and even lower AC! Man I got so bored with him! Oh, another boring character was my Kensai/Mage, Robe of Vecna + Celestial Fury + Crom Faeyr + Stoneskin + Improved Haste + Ring of Gaxx +.....= simply obliterate ANYTHING. *Sigh* I really miss my first character, a chaotic good Necromancer.

Now I decide to abandon the swashbuckler and use a new character, and I'm going to romance Viconia, because...she's just so interesting. Any suggestion of class to use? A charismatic Blade? A sword + shield (I LOVE that fighter look :D ) type pure fighter? Or a priest of Lathander! Wow, I really don't know. :D

I find my swash fun, most battles are easy, but thats not really because of him, but because of korgan. Swash is as close as you can get to fighter theif and still have maxed theif abilities in everything. Hes powerful but certianly nothing compared to other classes in the game. You want a challenge though? Solo a beast master.

You want an interesting romance? Download imoen romance, its pretty controversial on these boards, But I always found it fun and have a go at it almost everytime I play, just because of the sheer option of banters on it. Most banters begin with at least 8 different replies, 5 of which will usually lead to a chain talk, the others tell her to bugger off. Also theres a lot of funny replies in that romance. Anyway thats up to you. Other good romances are kelsey (or so I've heard), or taisha (Plus shes a sorc which is always an excellent addition to any party).

Banter wise your pc has nothing to do with anything try different part combo or go here to see all the npc interactions (http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG2/NPCinteractions.zip) but you may enjoy it more by finding them all yourself I have nothing against it personally.

Also if you want someone powerful from a roleplaying point of view try a Bard or it's kits, it's because of their lore they are so powerful since it's a measure of how much a character knows, and as the saying goes "knowledge is power"

Regarding the Imoen romance definately get that there might be some... questionable things in it but they are optional so your ok as long as you don't follow them and it's only a game for god sakes it's not going to kill you to give it a look.
