What should i install (mods, fixes, etc) except the patches.. in your opions that is.

What are you looking for? A better role-playing experience? Better battles/AI?

OK, get a new NPC. Solaufein for a brooding drow, Kelsey or Tashia for a sorcerer.

Just to try something different..

Depends on which characters you want to use and what class your protagonist will be etc.

Check out Baldurdash (http://members.rogers.com/mrkevvy/ToB/Fixes/TOBfixes.html) and use the fixes you think will be useful.
The Azuredge Axe fix is an example of a very worthwile fix if you intend to use that weapon. Read the description and you'll see how screwed up it is without the fix.

Baldurdash files seem to be down :(

No they work fine. Did you use my link above? Baldurdash changed address early this year so if you're using an old bookmark/favorite it might be out of date.
On Baldurdash you click the (missing) icons on the left to get the zip file for that fix.

The picture of the icons do not show up for me, but that's irrelevant because the zip files are there anyway.

Well some of the files worked, but when I tried to download the Baldur's Gate 1 fix its broken. It points to another mirror or something like that.

I'm getting the same problem, when I try to download the fixpacks for anything it can't find the link resulting in "Cannot find server" (god I hate that).

I can, however, download each individual file that's included in the fix pack....but I think that would take days :(
