Cripes. I don't know how I used to do it but this guy (one of the final seal guardians at the last level of watchers keep)never used to give me problems. Now he's blowing my party away. 'Course I used to do WK in TOB and now I'm doing it while in SoA but I don't think the diff. should be that big. Does anyone have any tips on how to beat him? Strongest I've got right now are +3 weapons and they don't affect him, is that a spell or is he really immune? And what's the deal, doesn't he ever run outta spells? Aargh it's driving me nutso

I think there must be some kind of bug with him. I beat him once while travelling through TOB but when I tried to fight him in the SOA part of the game he just wouldn't die. He put his magical defences up quicker than I could take them down, he seemed to have an endless amount of spells - more than enough to wipe out my entire party of 20th level characters - and also seemed to have endless hit points.

Thats that guy who instantly summons some child ghosts to help him right?

Well even if he isnt, doesnt matter to me becouse i made WK still within my SoA game. I mean no wizard happened to have endless spells (wouldnt matter anyway 'couse he couldnt get them off) or infinite HP. I had the latest patch(i dont know which one)

Update with the latest ToB patch and it should work fine.

I had the latest patch. But then I've just realised I had The Darkest Day installed as well.

*smacks self*

Most likely The Darkest Day screwed something up. I mean, it put errors in every other location in the game so why should WK be different?

How do you only have +3 weapons on the final level of WK? There's so many +4 or better weapons in there, that you should have better.

I think he might be immune to +3 or less. I know he's got spells to do it (mantle). Can anyone verify this?

That guy gave me a hard time on my second run of WK as well. First time I beat him no problem. Second time I was sure it was a bug (as in, cheating on the computer's part, if you can call it that). After that I've used numerous tactics. Such as 10 skulltraps, or several traps, or mage's HLA's (Improved Alactricity -> Spellstrike -> Whip of Warding -> some lower resistances -> lots of lvl 10 destruction and damaging spells) to do it. A strange enemy that one, at any case.

They do seem to have an infinite amount of spells on them. I've had fighters with weapons that level drain go against them and still, they manage to fire off an incessant amount of time stops and symbol spells. Plus they seem to have a version of mirror image that cannot be dispelled with true sight. Strange, not to mention annoying.

Whatever protections that dude has, I was unable to dispel them :( I just sat for a while in the corner and when I tried again, he was all of a sudden hittable...

I think it's a bug. I have attacked him and killed him with no problem. Then next time I cant touch him with anything. I once summoned about 15 planetars and hasted them and guess what. Even with warding whips, breaches, pierce sheilds, and spellstrikes he was untouchable. I used improved mace, staff of power, Rhynn, and Crom Fraeyer with no luck. I even resorted to trying non magical weapons. For some reason all of a sudden he starts getting hit and dies. There could be a bug with the time limit on his mantle or prot from magical weapons or something. I think the last time I battled him for over 15 mins before he dieded and was about to resort to Ctrl y kill. I get greedy with the xp sometimes and wont use that.
I actually intended this to be more of a bump to see if anyone knew the cause of this, than an actual reply. I would like to know more, seeing this is the only real headache for me durring the game.

If you can summon 15 planetars, you have a bug. There's meant to be something preventing you from having more than X summoned creatures, not to mention why you are willing to use so many magi purely on that one spell

Oh, and AFAIK, you cannot summon more than one Planetar. And again, AFAIK...Planetars when summoned, are already hasted...

He may have meant 15 in a row (which would involve some cheese, perhaps), or he may have been exaggerating. But in any case, I agree that the post smells a little funny.

I imagine he just summoned 15 Planetars from the console to prove that there was indeed a bug goin' down.

or used the spell project image a couple of times and summoned them (the planetars) from there, this is an IN game bug, or is it? it is cheesy thats for sure, but never the less, it is fairly easy to do....
