View Full Version : Got to love that talking sword Fizban Sat, 14th Jul '01, 1:52am It always makes me laugh :P ayecapitan Sat, 14th Jul '01, 2:51am Mind me, not many will share your emotion :) Fizban Sat, 14th Jul '01, 3:01am Well why not? btw know where the goggles of identify are? Alex Sat, 14th Jul '01, 4:17am The merchant on the second floor of Gaelyn Bayle's home. Wildfire Sat, 14th Jul '01, 11:01am And you can get a pair of the djinn who you summon with limited wish. nicholi Sun, 15th Jul '01, 4:33am ah, i see you read dragon lance fizban. god i love those books! Volar Blackmane Sun, 15th Jul '01, 4:50pm The ones written by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman are ok but I really wouldn't comment on some of the others... Especially not the fifth age books by Jean Rabe. Fizban Sun, 15th Jul '01, 9:36pm Ya actually I haven't read a fantasy books for a while, I finished the dragonlance series borrowed it from my bud. Since it is summer and I only got a part-time job, I started reading lord of the rings. THey are so fricken boring, when does it start getting interesting? Jander Sunstar Sun, 15th Jul '01, 9:40pm Never. But I recommend the Dark Elf Trilogy(FR), Dragons of Summer Flame(DL), or Vampire of the Mists(RL). Magnus_G Sun, 15th Jul '01, 10:25pm I have to stand up for LotR. I thought they were a great series. They are just a different style of writing than D&D books. tjekanefir Sun, 15th Jul '01, 10:52pm Hear hear, Magnus. (-: Blackthorne TA Sun, 15th Jul '01, 10:58pm People, this is the BG2 forum and the topic of this thread is "Got to love that talking sword". Take your reading material discussions to the proper forum please... tjekanefir Sun, 15th Jul '01, 11:41pm Oh yeah. Talking sword. Heh. Sorry, there. Well, personally I don't find that sword even slightly amusing, but then I find Jan's stories incredibly boring and he has some people in stitches, so, different strokes. (-: The funniest NPC where I'm concerned is Edwin, and the funniest non-party character hands-down the beholder in the Sahaugin city. ("Oh, I get it, a beholder's guarding it, so it HAS to be cool, right?") (-: ayecapitan Mon, 16th Jul '01, 1:59am That's what I meant when said that not everyone would relate to the initial idea. TrueColorz Sun, 12th Aug '01, 3:06am I personally loved the sentient sword. Some of it's dialogues are the funniest in the game. My favorites are "I may be an intelligent sword, but I have no formal education" and "I don't know what you were expecting, but as a sword I'm pretty one-dimensional in what I want." The funniest thing I heard on this message board was one person saying that Lilarcor said "Who's your daddy?"...at Nalia's father's funeral. I thought that was hillarious. Kalten Wed, 15th Aug '01, 4:18am I find the combination of Minsc and Lilarcor one of the funnier aspects of the game. I realize they do not really interact but it seems like they do when the sword tells Minsc to "choke up" and "swing harder". Minsc's comment of "I need a bigger sword" is also very fitting. Of all of the character in BG2. Minsc is the one that would actually listen to the sword and follow its advice. |
