View Full Version : Blackrazor
Evil Dad Sat, 31st Jul '04, 2:52am I have just gone through SOA yet again. This time, on the Greed test, I wanted the good path and to keep Blackrazor. After trying different approaches I discovered the following:
1. Say you aren't sure what to do and come back later
2. Pickpocket the Genie for the tear
3. When using the tear in the door, you get the good result and also keep Blackrazor :D
Apologies if this has been mentioned before.
Mystra's Chosen Sat, 31st Jul '04, 7:02am Didn't know that. Good tip for a Rogue character. (Although it doesn't serve for a roleplaying character, as someone who is "good" wouldn't pickpocket and someone who is evil wouldn't need to pickpocket and someone who is neutral wouldn't have a reason to pickpocket.)
NonSequitur Sat, 31st Jul '04, 7:42am That's odd - I knew about that some time ago, but on my latest run through with a Blade, I tried to do it and got "Target has no items". Might be either the patch or one of the mods I'm using, but I couldn't do it that way.
Not that my TN Blade would have killed the Genie for it anyway... just a wee bit annoying.

'nuff said!
Evil Dad Sat, 31st Jul '04, 11:16am My CN Skald, did some of the quests evil and some good, depending on the result needed. I was playing semi-evil anyway.
I just cleared out the mage in Saradush of all spells and good equipment. What a money saver! I had my bard drink 5xPotions of perception (PP=230) and went on another stealing spree. All those L8/L9 spells for nothing :)
chevalier Sat, 31st Jul '04, 11:22am Bad, bad. Shouldn't be there. I would understand pickpocketting the Blackrazor off someone, but the tears which are key items to the ending of the whole story (as it seems)? Bad, bad...
Evil Dad Sat, 31st Jul '04, 11:41am I might try and pickpocket the dragon for its items next time. Can dragons be pickpocketed?
The only ones I dont think you can do a legit workaround for are Wrath and Fear. Selfish you can use boots of speed on your (to be) held character, but he is never wearing them, so poor Jan always gets fried.
Elvenblade Sat, 31st Jul '04, 1:43pm Can dragons be pickpocketed?
No.
GI Sat, 31st Jul '04, 5:43pm 1. Say you aren't sure what to do and come back later
2. Pickpocket the Genie for the tear
3. When using the tear in the door, you get the good result and also keep Blackrazor That's a neat trick, the Baldurdash fix pack correct this bug though.
Korgal the Strong Sat, 31st Jul '04, 10:30pm can dragons be pickpocketed? think about it. if it doesnt have pockets can it be pickpocketed?
Earl Grey Wed, 4th Aug '04, 9:05pm "Pick Pocket" is just a term used for stealing items carried by someone on their person (and I use the term "person" loosely here!). There is no requirement that the target must have clothes with pockets. :)
Bluerose Wed, 4th Aug '04, 9:12pm IIRC, you were (at one time) able to pickpocket the silver dragon off her blood. Can't remember if it's been fixed somewhere.
Dradeel Wed, 4th Aug '04, 9:26pm ^^ do you think the programers actually thought about that (nope) lol, and yes you can pick pocket almost anything
