They are boyh Rangers so this is not too heavy.Make a choice and explain.Once and for all I need to know who is better ranger from this two!

I never use Minsc as a ranger (I give him heavy armour so he cannot hide) so my choice is Valygar, sure he is not as funny but I find him more useful.

i think minsc is more powerful and more funny, but in my games he is more a fighter then a ranger, hee's always at the frontline with lilarcor and Boo.

Valygar is the choice for me, his weapon proficiencies are better (Celestial Fury, anyone ?) and his backstab kills a Mind Flayer in one hit in TOB.

As for Minsc, I never give him a leather armor, so I could compare him with Korgan, not with Valygar.

Minsc's strength is better, but the gloves from Planar Sphere for Valygar can correct that, and you get them early in the game, too.

It depends on your playing style. If you need a tank, Minsc is your man, as he can wear heavy armour and his strength and special rage come in very handy. If you favor speed, and hit-and-run tactics, Valygar is better.

Minsc is better just because Valygar is so damn boooooring!

Valygar might be boring, but he's still a lot better to talk to than that idiot that is Minsc. Aslo, Valygar is the token black guy of the game...so you have to take him over Minsc... :eek: :rolling:

Minsc is a tank that is useful in TOB. Valygar is near useless in TOB with that armor restriction. Celestial Fury is a great sword, but hardly compensates for Valygar to be better than Minsc. Minsc can wield it too if the right slots are placed in proficiency..

Valyga has 2 dex more than Minsc, so his AC ain't that bad compare to minsc. At high lv, he can backstab x4, in ToB he can wear the white dragon scale armor (-2AC, isn't it the lowest ?).

Well, I like Valygar better

I think that it depends on the rest of the party.
If you have some character cariing katanas (kensai, kensai/mage, thief etc) you would propably take minsc for two handed weapons.
I used once Minsc dualing blunt weapons as he has proficiency in Maces , and he likes mace of disruption vs undead :)

btw: ToB , yeah usualy it's not important whom you will dump from party to take Sarevok :)

Exactly - thought Minsc is the ranger class, he is used more as a fighter, and lets face it, there are better fighters in the game.

Keldorn and Sarevok are better 2-handed sword users.
