Yet another problem!


After i get the sword for Aerie the Ogre (in the circus tent at the beginning of the game), it won't let me talk to her. It says she's busy. Now, I've tried everything: resting, leaving the area and re-entering, and I've even loaded and tried several times, but it doesn't seem to work! Is there anyway to fix this, or can I still complete the quest without helping her (as in, can I kill Kalah, get all the experience, and have aerie turn back?)?

I think that this is a commonly reported bug that is fixed by the official patch.

Yes. You can just complete the quest, Aerie will become normal once you have dealt with Kalah. You dont get the XP for saving Aerie ofcourse.

Plus, I have a mod that claims I shouldn't install the patch after it... do you think that that will get messed up if I reinstall the official patch?

Uninstall the mod - if you don't need it - and then reinstall bg2 with the patch. Then you can install the mod again. Should work.

Yes, definitely uninstall the mod before applying the patch. The patch should be installed *before* all mods... Otherwise you will get problems.

EDIT: When i installed the patch, it said that I dont need it because I have ToB installed... Therefore, shouldn't that problem not have occured? Anyways, I installed the ToB patch as well, and we'll now see if it works. Wish me Luck!

You don't need luck. The only thing you need is ToB patch and now you have that so enjoy. :)
