I beat it! I beat the darn thing!

But....

After killing Sarevok I got a message that all my characters were exported. The final movie played and then it took me to the main menu. I thought if I had the mission pack installed I'd go to the starting point of that automatically? I guess not.

So I select Single Player -> Mission Pack and get a message that I need to load the final save and my party will be teleported to the start of TotSC. So I load it. Nope. I'm back where I entered Sarevok's lair.

So I try to start a new mission pack only game and import my characters, but my main character is the only one the game exported for me. It doesn't look like I can add the others in my party to start the game.

Is this sounding famillar to anyone? How do I get my party to the mission pack? I don't want to loose Minsc, Imoen, and others (not to mention all the nice things I've equiped them with). :( Thanks.

I may be wrong, but I think I read somewhere that you cannot play TotSC if you have finished the game. I don't think it is like HoW that can be played even after finishing the game. I think you load it while you are playing BG1 and then the areas become available. I'm not sure, mind you, but I think this is how it's done. You're just gonna have to load the "Auto Save before entering the temple" or any previous save in order to access the areas BEFORE fighting Sarevok.

Not really... It works fine if you install the expansion and go from the final save. With one minor problem... It doesn't teleport you to Ulgoth's Beard as it's supposed to, but it puts you back in front of the temple of Bhaal in the Undercity so you have to trek all the way back through the maze before you can access the new areas. At least that's how it went for everyone that had this problem thus far. Me included.

Ok. Silly me. I think I had read somewhere that TotSC was designed to be a challenge even for parties that have beaten the game, and foolishly I thought from that that one could play the expansion areas after killing Sarevok.

Heh, it's not your fault, blame it in the programmers. It's simply not working as it's supposed to.
TSC actually is a challenge, and a very good one at that. The new areas are worth the trek back from Undercity. ;)

Yep, I'll be making that trek. My DC Fighter/Cleric, Bold Doherty, is hoping to find a certain Tome of Understanding that's rummored to be hidden in Durlag's Tower before he goes to Amn. It'll go nice with the other two Tomes of Understanding he found. :D (Go ahead... call me a power-gamer. You know you want to. ;))

TotSC rocks! only the endfight is a little bit too easy. The 4 Dwarven Warders on Lv 2 where harder to overcome than this Demonknight. But what will i do now with my all LV 10 party. Do you have experience with this unofficial Dark Side oTC extension?

What is the story of TotSC, is it like HoW, where it has a small connection to the main plot? I just started a new elven fighter-thief in candlekeep and I think I HAVE to get the expansion... only problem is, I think it's hard to find nowadays
