I'm going to solo the game with a Sorcerer and I should decide which familiar (=alignment) I want. Because I'm going to solo the lack of thievieng abilities are my foremost concern. I can open locked doors & chests with Knock but how I'm supposed to get through traps? Cast all protection spells I know and run through? I know some familiars can detect traps. Can they disarm them too?

And what are the differencies of Limited Wish and Wish?

The rabbit is the best trap detecter (though it can't disarm) but I think the ferret can detect and maybe the cat aswell. The rabbit is for true neutral mages, cat for chaotic neautral while the ferret is for lawful neautral characters. Hope this was hlpful and about wishes...limited wish is less powerful in general though it has some capabilities that wish hasn't got. Also, wish is based on intelligence and wisdom while limited is done on just wisdom.

I would get the cat(true neutral) with the highest trap disarm skills, as you can use knock on the locks. But this is only at 50% so most likly you'll have to run over most traps.

I chose true neutral. This far (2nd chapter) I've been running over traps. Oh well, gotta go to De'Arnise Hold soon.

Familiars CANNOT disarm traps, they can only DETECT them. This is as it should be. I mean, for me the only pseudo-real solution for a hole spewing out fire is to PLUG it with the ferret.... :D

I have an elven sorcerer with 17 constitution, but when I summoned my familiar I only got the extra hit points, no constitution bonus. :( Oh well, no more shiny ones, just a little wabbit. :roll:

Firstly you get no bonuses for con over 16, so thats a point wasted.

There is also no con bonus for having a familiar, you just lose one if it dies.

Still, you have a spare, so no problem. :lol:
