View Full Version : another 'import' question (thief DC mage)

In BGI, it's possible to dual-class from one class (lets say thief for arguments sake) into a specialist mage (lets say illusionist). This is not allowed in BGII.

What happens if I import my character from BGI who is a dual classed thief 5/ illusionist 6. Will the character still be an illusionist, or will s/he lose the illusionist title, and become a generic mage (no specialty)?

TIA

I see no real reason why they'd lose the speciality. If the game copes fine with SK'd kits that the character didn't originally have, then I doubt that it'd get overly upset over an imported mage speciality. Naturally, having never done this, I may be wrong.

I did this with my latest character. They lose the specialty and become generic mages. Presumably you could use shadowkeeper to add the specialty back, but I haven't tried.

Ah, my bad. Being a Tutu user, I don't have all that much contact with straight BG these days.

In addition to SKing back the specialty, you can use my 'Imoen as a Conjurer' mod to add back the extra spell slots permanently.
