View Full Version : SP Solo Campaign

I got this idea yesterday when I started my solo BG 1 campaign.

Who would be interested in doing a solo campaign with your own SP name and put down your progress in the game here on the forums. The idea is to complete the game (with tob) with each having a different char.

Now I want to finish BG 1 first with my new char so I figured I checked if there were any who were interested in the idea, so I or someone else (who can't wait) starts the campaign and the thread.

Questions can be asked here

BTW I don't know if this has been done before, I did a search and nothing came up so I thought I tried.

I suppose people who play cRPG repeatedly wouln't mind. Especially that some use their own names (I do for example). Well, but what you are thinking of is running a character based on that particular SPer playing, right? Throw in some links to class, race, stats (http://blanchard.virtualave.net/war/dndstats.html) and alignment (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/dx20001222b) tests and maybe some will be interested.

Another good one for alignment: http://members.aol.com/MarkJYoung/align.html This one will require pen & paper ;) but is both more flexible and reliable than it's CGI version.

Those were only examples, if someone is really interested, there's loads of them on the net and each can be found via searchers.

So, if you get your RL stats and alignment (more or less), the class that most fits your character etc, giving your SP name to it will make some sense.

As good as that sounds I was more thinking in this context.

You can just create a character anyway you like just use your SP name, any who wants to participate must have a different character. Characters may be made by scratch, or imported from BG1. No trainers or cheating (only if you lost an important quest item).
Some Mods but no quest related mods, just easy of use, stuff like that.

Post when you have your char and stats, after that just post what's happening in the game, troubles or successes and of course you ending char and equipment.

This thread is just checking for people who are interested and in this case for people who have questions.

So your interested chevalier?

Well since I'm about a quarter in BG1 right now I was planning (if there is enough interest) to start the actual thread in about 1 or 2 weeks (depending on how fast I play BG1)

But if you want you can post it here already, or if you really can't wait open a thread now and I'll join in when I finish BG1.

This char I'm working on is going to be great, Fighter/mage

Cool enough, but the problem is that some solo enterprises are way harder than others.

NOT that this should deter, but it could put a bit of a difference into where everyone gets to at any particular time.

Which HLA's do Bards get btw? Never played a BG2 Bard...

Argh! My ToB is done... but I DO get enough money to get meself a new one come Monday... Yeah, I could do this. I could try solo for the firsat time. :D

When I get ToB, I shall try this one. More or less me-like stats, me-like alingment, and me-like class :D .... but seeing as I am more or less a storyteller, the thread will be in CS. I'll throw a link here :)

(Elrond! Legsy! Stop it right now!)

Well you can always begin with the more popular ones like F/M/T or Kensai/mage

I'm gonna play my BG1 F/M multiclass

NOT that this should deter, but it could put a bit of a difference into where everyone gets to at any particular time.
That shouldn't matter much, just play on a regular basis and post where and how you are in the game (especially victories and problems)

The good thing with different classes is we won't get much of the same story.

Shall we begin on monday?, this way I can beat BG1 with my char this weekend.
Arab you want to start a thread by that time (sunday night or so) in CS? or should I do it.

Oh let me know what class you want to play here, or PM me, this way we get a nice overview and less chance on picking the same chars.

EDIT: anyone have a preference what mods we are going to use. I was thinking of the Easy of use pack, anything else?

I was going to have a half-elf fighter thief, but then decided on having romances, so

I have a human wizardslayer who will dual to thief. Can't wait for that one.

He is level 12 now. I escaped Jonny, then went a completed the Shade Lord quest up to the point of the Shadow Dragon, then retreated. I then went and killed Torgal but did not talk to Nalia yet. Will go and complete Windspear Hills, now.

I love being able to ruin spell casters' spells. I did not realise that a wizardslayer could be fun.

Anyway is it "breaking the rules" to borrow an NPCs skills to complete an area? I mean get Jan, Jan unlocks door and removes traps, then get lost Jan, type scenario.

I will need to get around 3.5 or 4 million xp before dual classing. Only 2.5 million to go!
