I finally took some time to download and install BGT over the weekend. I was originally going to install BG Tutu but after finding a 8MB download of BGT I decided to go with BGT. I also downloaded the following: The Sorcerer's Place Collection, Morituri Kit,Triple-Class Mage HLA Fix, Happy Group, BG2 Grand Mastery Rules Fix, Bonus & Collector's Edition CD Merchants, One Pixel Productions, Boards O' Magick Item Pack,Shadowkeeper and 'Safe' XP Cap Remover for Throne of Bhaal.

Last night I rolled my character for BGT
Race: Half-Elf
Class: Kensai/Mage/Thief.
Level: 1/1/2
Str: 18/74
Dex: 18
Con: 18
Int: 18
Wis: 10
Cha: 10
Weapon Prof: ***2 Weapon Style and *Long Swords
Thieving Skills: OL 75% PP35% F/RT 25% HS 25% MS 25% DI 0% ST 5%

Let me know what you think of my character. I am about to talk to Gorion so I haven't pick up any NPCs yet. I am not sure if I want to go solo with this character.

What mods to do you recommend to extended the game. I was thinking about downloading BGT - Darkest Day and a few others. Thanks.

Well I could say that you really needed to specialise in the longsword. (two proficiencies). The specialisation bonus is awesome: +1 to hit, +2 to damage AND an extra ½ attack. That extra ½ is VERY important in early levels. But then again if you dual-wield you gain an extra 1 attack but suffer -2 to your offhand, based on your full allotment to dual-wielding. And you don'T get any attack or damage bonus from specialisation. I would prefer ** in two-weapon style and ** in longswords though, OR do not dual-wield at all.

I prefer 1+½ extra strong attacks per round (+1 to hit, +2 to damage in all attacks) then weak 2 attacks per round, (-2 penalty to off-hand, no other bonus) but that is just me. :p

What would be good stats for a Shapeshifter Druid if I started from Candlekeep? I am thinking of starting a second game.

My current game I am my 1/2 elf that is level 5/5/6. I have not even attempted to go into the bandit camp and I still have firewine bridge, etc...

As for a shapeshifter I am thinking these as for stats.

Str: 18
Dex: 17
Con: 15
Int: 10
Wis: 17
Cha: 17

after completing BG and ToTSC my stats would be.
Str: 19
Dex: 18
Con: 16
Int: 11
Wis: 20
Cha: 18

And after completing ToB my stats and special abilities would totally kick ass. My goal with this character is to start off as a shapeshifter and dual class to a fighter after level 25. I do have the mod that allows all characters to reach level 40 and the mod that allows multi class F/M/T and F/M/C to get there HLA.

Thanks.

If you're getting stat rolls that high it won't really matter exactly where you put the numbers. ;)
