I am disappointed, that there is no BGII or BGI or ToB webring at all.
I want to ask you what do you think about that...
Because there are only a few sites about this wonderful game( the best one is SP(my real opinion is that)), and there are very few fan sites. Baldur's Gate had a huge webring with about 100 fan sites in it, but all of them disappeared. There is a new webring with 5 members, but that's too bad.
I discussed this topic with my friends and they said that all of them told you the same, but I don't think that was so.
I want to make a webring, and a fan site, but I want to ask you about your opinion, and your opinion about BGI/BGII/ToB fansites..
And any fansites at all....
Because SP is very good, but the BG saga deserves a good fan webring.. I think

Actually, there is a BG1 webring still... It's still got 90-something sites in it. Check http://www.sorcerers.net/webrings.htm

But the whole system fell apart the first time the Webring changed the whole system. And yet again when they sold it off to Yahoo. After so much changing (the code had to be changed every time, and entry in the webring regenerated) no webmaster would bother anymore. As far as I'm concerned, they killed the webring system by doing that.

Which, when you think about it, was probably exactly what Yahoo intended. Kill the webrings, and where will the search traffic go? Right.

Actually, I think that Yahoo destroyed webrings so the ultimate crap called Yahoo groups can live.

I don't advise anyone to join Yahoo groups unless you really, really, don't have better things to do.

You know, you could make your own webring. Nobody can stop you from linking a few dozen sites together. :p

A Javascript webring then will perhaps do! :)
What do you think about fansites?
