I was just wondering if anyone knew where I could find a guide to all the joinable NPCs in BG2 SoA and ToB. I've searched the SP games area but couldn't find any so if anyone could help I'd be greatfull.

There are a lot on SP. Just search again and I am sure you could find some. If you don't, I have the two of mine. They suck in grammar but otherwise they could get pretty useful at times.

There's Deathmage's NPC guide in Tips, tricks & hints section. http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG2/index_tips.htm

Walkthroughs have often little guides or at least list of joinable NPCs.

Edit: Heh, Deathmage, your welcome :)

Thanks, but what I was looking for is more something about the history of the NPCs. Like where they were born, how they came to be in Amn, and stuff like that.
I don't think there is anything like this, I would love to be proved wrong.

The history of all the NPCs (pulled from the game files) is available with the listing of NPCs here: http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG2/Walkthrough/npcs.htm

With the next site update a very detailed NPC guide will go up as well.

Hey, thanks for advertising for me, Harkle! :)
I need to update that. There's a bit of wrong information in there.
Edit: Just sent a new version to Taluntain. Perhaps I should send you a copy too, RotKU?

I'm supposed to be getting a new NPC guide posted as well. Although I give some background information as far as where people were born and whatnot, that is not the focal point of the guide.
