I've been playing a new Elf Slayer the last couple of days and I'm finding their potential quite interesting. I just got to level 14 because I'm playing a bit leisurely and I already have 5 attacks. If I had planned I really wonder what it would be doing.

I imported one of my warriors from BG1 so I have 19 in Strength, dex, and Con
10 in Intelligence(my only real draw back. specially around the mind flayers)
A meager 13 wisdom
17 in my Charisma. This is where I had put extra points to help get a few of the better responses in BG1.

When I switched over I was thinking Swords and Axes for the Character. Then I picked up Belm.

Now I'm wielding the Axe out of D'Armise Keep in the Golem Room and Belm and my power is really nice with just three in Axe proficiency and only 1 in Scimitar at the moment as well as 2 in two weapon style.

I just wish that Belm had higher magical Plusses even though it's in my off hand. It's couple of hits don't work on everything. The Spellcasters in the game though If they survive the first few hits are really suffering because they can cast almost no magic.

on top of that my Party is intersting and surprisingly affective.

I have Minsc currently wielding Lilacoor.

Cernd is my next in line and he does surprisingly well with my first try with him, specially since he got his Greater Werewolf form. With a natural -13ac 21 strength, 20 dex, and 25 constitution he regenerates quite well and he is strong in a fight. He also gets 3 attacks a turn. Then I put some low AC bracers on him much like decking out a mage and a few other items that affect AC since I know enough of them to spread them all over my party. If I could change him at all, the absolute only thing I would alter would be giving him access to at least some of his spells in his Werewolf form. He can only be a big frightening brute or a decent spell caster. Sadly he can't do both. I am finding that his actual only drawback. After reading about some of these Mod's that change druids I have to wonder what they are really after with making them as powerful as they do because they can't be balanced. I've gained a new respect for Druids and will have to play them more.

Anyway. Behind him I have Jan dual wielding as well. He's wielding currently the Short sword of Backstabbing(+3) and Kudane and I just need to get him a second dot in Dual Wielding if I can and he's not bad in a fight himself. But I did have to give him a strength enhancing item otherwise his 9 strength is far to weak. His stupid bruiser flashers were pushing his weight limit into the red all on their own. But on the bright side this has made him a bit more of a support tank. Specially after I gave him low ac bracers too because his pick locks and find traps are excellently high. He does well backing the three I have already up with 3 attacks a turn of his own.

After that I got Aerie. Took her for the romance and she's holding her own with the Staff of Rynn.

Edwina's bringing up the end of my party with staff of Magi...

It's a great party and they have a lot of Banter. I don't see why People call Cernd boring. He's had quite a bit to say in my game. But maybe part of it is the party that I have.

I'm just up to the point where I've completed most everything and I'm trying to decide whether to side with Bodhi or not. I think I might try her and if I don't lose Aerie like I've heard can happen then I think that could role play wise satsify the neutral and evil characters in my group with something a bit more towards their alignment. (Even if my reputation doesn't reflect that.)

I just started wondering, if a mage has stoneskin up, and a wizardslayer Hits him with a sword without elemental damage, will the spell failiure apply? Or does he have to deal damage for it to work?

I seem to tear through Stone skin pretty fast. So I'll let you know when i get into wizards that put enough up that I don't tear through it in a round. I'm not sure yet. I do know that it doesn't work through "Protection from Magical Weapons" I have to get that nasty bit out of the way. And it doesn't work if I don't have a weapon with strong enough enchantment to hit them and get that stupid "your weapon is innefective message." When it does work. I've found it immensely useful even against Liches. They becomes very easy if you can keep them from casting spells. And if i attack fast enough sometimes I get enough disruption affect in before their contingencies kick in to mess up their spells enough to give me a bit more of a chance to rip their protections down.

The only other thing I'm not sure about is if the casting failure works on Dragons. I haven't been able to get them in a position to find out.

NOTE: I do make two attacks with Belm. It list them with a (left) indicator on the attack rolls. The other 3 are with my main weapon. Low Weapon Speeds are also a real boon in my favor. Sometimes getting as many as 3 of my attacks in before the enemy makes one.
