I'm thinking of this as my new party, just to give it a try:
Protagonist: Either an Elf F/M or F/M/T or a Gnome F/Ill (I want pointy weapons, so no Cleric)
Jaheira
Jan
Aerie
With either protagonist, I'll have 3 arcane spellcasters and 2 divine. Jan would easily be a good enough thief, and the whole party would have access to Stoneskin or Ironskin, making them very tough.
What do you think?

Nice theme! I like it!
Jan is not a good enough thief, he becomes the best thief in the game fast enough! :thumb:
Jaheira is the best tank IMHO, if you equip her with right stuff, a good shield, and her Harper Pin, she becomes one tough nut to crack. :smash:
Aerie can provide all needed clerical services to you, and you can romance her if you want. (I would choose Jaheira, her romance gives you TONS of XP and Harper pin, whilst Aerie's only gives you...a baby! WOO! :xx: )
I suggest you should create an elven F/M, so that you can romance Jaheira and/or Aerie and cast necromancy spells! You really do not need to have T levels, Jan can take care of anything. Go for F/M to be a most needed second tank!
Keeping the number of members to 4 is nice so that they can level up faster.
Go for it! And keep us updated!

I'm giving it a go with a female elf FMT. I am sick of the romances, and I'm having a good time so far.

Silverstar, your English is pretty good, but you sometimes say the funniest of things. Jan being the best thief in the game isn't good enough for you? ;)

I think what Silverstar is saying is that Jan is not merely "good enough," he is the best longterm thief option of all the Bioware NPCs. Or in other words, "good enough" is an understatement of Jan's capabilities.

Ah, I see.
*shrug*
Regardless of Silverstar's intended meaning, it still gave me a chuckle.
