Hi,

I have installed the Kivan mod and have him in my party. However, I have noticed that sometimes, when you add or remove components of other modules, something goes wrond: instead of the selection/action sounds, quotes from random conversations appear in the dialog box. In addition, some minor characters (like traders, or town criers) have part of conversations for names.
Does anyone know what exactly causes this?

Absolutely...sounds like a typical mod conflict. And I would know...because I had to re-install my game the day before yesterday because of the same problem!

Just re-install your game, and then install your mods one by one...with the Kivan mod being first of course, and check which mod causes the bug. Uninstall that mod, and you should be fine again.

@ Faraaz. How do you tell which one is causing the conflict? I get item names as conversation things, sometimes when i view them through SK.

Dude...the weird text comes because your dialog.tlk file gets overridden, and all the references get mixed up or something like that. I'm no techie! :p

What I do know is you just work your way backwards...uninstalling stuff till the problem goes away, and re-installing if that don't work! :thumb:

Errors like that tend not to be because of the mod themselves but the user's installation and uninstallation.

You will get misplaced text if you install non-WeiDU mods or the Official Patch after WeiDU mods, or install mods or patches while the game or an editor is running.

Also, if you uninstall a lot of mods then install new ones and then use a saved game from before the uninstall, some of the strings may be messed up. If you want to remove a mod, it is better (though not essential) to do it before starting your new game.

The advice I would give is to uninstall mods and patches, and reinstall in the correct order. :)
