Well I currently have the original saga and i'm borrowing BG2 (original 4 disk version) from him, but I was thinking of just buying the "Ultimate collection" instead of TOB and still borrowing SoA from him. So my main question is, does Tutu work with The Ultimate Collection (both SoA and ToB combined)?

The Ultimate Collection is just both both SoA and ToB in one box instead of two separate boxes. As far as I know, you can still install them separately.

Anyway, moving to the ToB forum.

And yes, Tutu will work with them.
