I played BG 2 two times before, but never finished. Every time i start i have to do the quest for Nalia. It is truly annoying and i have done it 2 times already. Now i want to explore a little first. So, is time truly of essence? Or can i wait as much as i want with this quest?

AFAIK, you can put it off as long as you like. The drawback is Nalia will leave the party after a couple days if you aren't at the keep by then.

I have done the keep quest as late as Chapter 6. Just so long as you don't have Nalia in your party, there is no time limit for this quest. Heck, you could even leave the job half done and then return at your convenience, there is no time limit. This also holds true for most major quests.

You don't *have* to do the Nalia quest, only if you're a Fighter and want's the stronghold...

You can just turn how down, or even say you meet her there, but never actually go to De'Arnise Hold :p

The FoA is useful only if it is going to be used properly. In a party consisting of an Archer, Jaheira, Viconia, Edwin, Jan and Korgan who would be using the FoA effectively? Or even the CF or Azuredge. In some parties some weapons remain unused and you need to plan your path according.

@Shrikant:
Viccy, of course. :p

I've found the FoA to be an excellent troll-finisher; with fire, ice, and acid it can finish any troll you can find in the game. Focus on one at a time and then have the one with FoA come around to finish them off when they fall; no ammo wasted. :D

EDIT: Well, I thought the "not to mention" would be good enough, but apparently Harbourboyd ( :p ) doesn't agree, so I'll err on the side of caution.

Felinoid - don't mention the 'T' word in this forum!

Back on topic, you don't HAVE to do this quest if you don't want to.
