Hello Board,
I'm wondering how to make a non mage (specifically thief) use scrolls. I'll eventually be releasing a patch to use the original AD&D rules for thieves and scrolls; but first I need to get them to do it period ;)
Thanks in advance.

Each item can be edited in a way that you may make it useable or non-useable by a class. Such are also the scrolls.
You can use TeamBG tools (IEEP?) or NearInfinity for this.

Aye I'm aware of the looooooooooong way to do it. :) I was hoping maybe someone knew of a shortcut to do this.
I tried looking through the biffs for the code in the thief ability Use Any Item since it rewrites usability somehow, but I don't have a string reference so its a little tricky to find.
I know it has to be in there somewhere though because I doubt the ability rewrites every Item code. Most likely it changes something in the thief's character tags where he qualifies as all classes. If anyone has looked into this before or has some helpful insight on how it works let me know.
Thanks
(sorry for not being specific)

Um, if you want that, the easiest way is to make your own custom spell that gives permanent "use any item" effect.
What you think is long from my first post, is not actually that long. With WeiDU you may alter a single byte in bunch of files by using a single file (with tags).
