I just noticed, how come in the fight where you get viconia, she casts flame blade. She doesnt even have that spell, whats up with that?

Flame Blade is a 2nd level cleric spell -- she can certainly cast it. It fits well with the moment at hand even if she doesn't memorize it again.

Back in BG1, clerics could (erroneously, IIRC) use Flame Blade. Viccy's fighting script is likely a carryover from before they fixed that oversight in SoA (though any PC cleric can still use it, I think). As to why she can cast it when she doesn't have it memorized, I'd say its probably in the category of why Kangaxx can cast Imprisonment after Imprisonment without having it memorized; if it's scripted just right (or wrong, depending on how you look at it ;) ), anyone can cast any spell. Some of the "God-like" scripts you can find here and there for download work the same way.

EDIT:
Correction: Clerics should be able to cast Flame Blade since they have minor access to the elemental spheres (which I'm sure should include at least the first two spell levels), but incidentally they actually should not be able to cast Entangle since it's from the plant sphere (which they have NO access to). I'll look into this further when I get back from visiting my mother, and post in a new thread who should actually have what. Perhaps a mod could be made... :hmm:

aha, i just checked the flame blade spell with dltcp and it is "general" that said its for all priest type casters, BUT viccy doesnt have it

Yes, neither Anomen nor Aerie has it either. NPC clerics don't seem to get it.

wierd, and more wierd that patch and baldurdash doesnt fix it

The only cleric who can cast Flame Blade is the PC.
