What are some points in the game that you found extremely frustrating, whether it was your own fault or a tricky/difficult part of the game?

The other day I was merrily toddling along the Unseeing Eye quest. I got to the end of the passage leading to the city of the damned, as I call it. Not having done the quest in quite some time, I had no idea that there was a trap there that casts Flesh to Stone. My barbarian PC was unlucky enough to fail his save, and I hadn't saved the game since I went into the lower passages. Argh.

After that, I reloaded my Quick-Save that was just before speaking to Gaal, and proceeded to wipe the floor with the whole lot of them :D

I would be inclined to agree that accidentily killing your pc on a trap after you havn't saved in a while is one of the most annoying things in the game.

Another thing of annoyance, I hadn't saved in a while, and I went to fight the lich in the bridge district as a fairly low level solo blade. As I was fighting him, he cast gate, then when his own demon started attacking him he cast maze on it. I then proceeded to kill the lich, and tried to hurry out of the little tomb because I didn't have a strong enough weapon to hurt a pit fiend. I was too late, and the pit fiend came running after me. I ran upstairs and it folllowed me, then outside and it followed me, at which point it killed everything breathing in the bridge district. I had to go back quite some time to my last autosave, and on subsequent tries I was unable to kill the lich.

That "Imprisonment" on a PC in a party results in the game ending. You're not dead, your party can bring you back - it's annoying if your PC can't cast Spell Immunity: Abjuration or is not otherwise immune to Imprisonment.

Same goes for the various spells that will finish off a solo PC (like Charm and Maze).

I always disliked Charm ending the solo game - the spell only lasts for so long, no? I don't see why it has to mean everything's over.

The same could be said for Maze, but I more or less agree with that, no matter how annoying.

I agree with charm ending a solo game because basically a charmed solo is as good as dead, if you think about it. The only circumstance where charm shouldn't kill a solo should be if you have summoned creatures fighting.

Frustration always kicked in at the Draconis, and Abazigal battles. I always felt like I was pounding my head against a brick wall there.

Maze ending the game is stupid... you come back within seconds especially if you're intellegent. Charm wears off soon, it shouldn't end it. It's just stupid.
