I can't seem to load up the game. Either BG2 or throne of Bhaal. It won't load in disk 2. Just tells me wrong disk in drive. I open it, and close it, the disk is fine! Is there anyway to force it to accept the disk???

I use win2k; SoA and IWD run excellent. It's tough to tell what the problem is from the limited information, but it sounds like a hardware issue. Are you using the via 4n1 drivers? ACPI turned on? What about DMA on your cdrom? Auto-notification on?

If you want to play SoA with ToB installed, you still have to insert the expansion CD first. If you try disk 2, you'll get a message saying this, so I doubt this is the problem, but I post it since it might be. :)

Haven't heard of this one before. Install the latest patches for the game and if you haven't, try do a full install.
If the you can access the cd from the windows explorer either, it's because your cd drive can't read the disc.

This may not be it, but I read someplace that the paint they used on the CD's was "too thick" and uneven for some drivers. Try using a fine sandpaper on the side with the label (not the data side). Works for some people for unreadable CD.

I'm running win2k pro with NTFS and haven't had this problem, although I notice that the CDs have to be inserted into the sane CDROM drive that I used for the installation (there are 3 on my machine).
The only way to make sure that the CD and/or the CDROM drive aren't causing the prblem is to copy the entire CD to a harddrive on the same machine - if you can do this then everything on the CD is accessible.

lol, you have an insane CD-drive too? j/k
Hmm, you could try using VirtualCD, that's what I use.
I love it because I don't have to insert the cd when I start the game up,
and startup is a lot faster now
Although the problem is you'll need a large hard drive, becuz now it's like 4 GB or more

heh
It just happened that way over ther years: one CD-ROM drive then a CDRW drive then a DVD drive.
