Well, does it, with items and spells that give damage resistance? Because if it did, it'd be so cheesy, but cool nevertheless.

As far as I know it stacks with innate damage resistance as well as items. It should also stack with spells, but I haven't checked this. In fact, without the Baldurdash fix, it even stacks with itself.

Yes it stacks with the physical resistance granted by items and with Armor of Faith.

It will stack with itself only without the Baldurdash fix.But the hardiness from Wish will stack with normal Hardiness.

Armor of Faith however sets physical resistance, so if you're gonna use it make sure to remove DoE (if applicable) and cast before activating Hardiness.

Defender of Easthaven. Gives +20% to slashing, piercing and crushing resistance.

Then it is settled. Playing F/M/T will definitely pay off, especially when UAI will kick on, and Jansen Adventure Wear(tm) is wearable by others than Jan...which brings me to think of Sarevok/thief with Hardiness...m-mm...

Mouhahahahaha! Then those NPC's in ToB shall feel my unholy wrath!

Well if you already have mage levels, damage resistance is very useless. You will have stoneskins, mirror images, pro from magic weapons too boot! :p

Oh, but protection from magic weapons lasts only so little time, illusions are nearly always dispelled so quickly and what with all those baddies with IWW the stoneskins won't help much.

I like the idea of taking those punches, shrugging them off with very little damage and giving a hell back with some nice spells from spell sequencers and chain contingencies and chopping whats left into teeny weeny bits. :deadhorse:

Damage resistance would be preferable in a long drawn out fight with an enemy that has alot of resistance, ac & hps.

However, in a situation where you're swarmed by a large group, short term mage defences are best especially when soloing.

Mirror Image & Stoneskin don't just mean you shrug off an attack or two, it ensures your spells aren't interrupted. Likewise with PFMW, for 4 rounds you are free to cast spells or fight.

With damage resistance you'll be able to take more hits but you can forget about spell casting for the entire of battle.

Yeah, but when there's a certain swarm with lots of hitpoints, AC and resistances, right in the very end of everything, having the ability to cast some spells isn't that helpful. And I will of course have those protection spells, but when the spells run out, and when the protections are dispelled, beaten or they time out, the damage resistance will help.

This is actually not true. Spells stand a chance of being disrupted during both of them. Added on damage like a certain club that does splinter damage will go through stone skin even if the main damage of the weapon does not. This will interrupt spells.

And it is to my understanding that in BG2 and thus things running off of it's engine there is a given probability that your mage will be hit instead of an image of your mage. BG1 however doesn't have that probability.
