One of the nice things about the Red Dragon Scale in SoA was that you could wear magic armor class reducing items with it, like rings, amulets and cloaks of protection.

No more. Apparently, that was a bug which the designers decided to fix, because after I installed ToB, my character can no longer wear his spiffy Ring of Protection +2 with the Red Dragon Scale.

Not that it's necessarily going to get him killed--he's still got an AC of -8. But -10 is better!

Yeah and can you believe I was stupid enough to take off my cloak of protection +2 so that Caspenar could make it imoproved? It was working fine as a combo till I took it off. Now I can't put it back on again....oh well. Tis the way things go I suppose.

Ah! Naturally this makes sense, but I too thought it was intended to be that way. They could have said that this was a bug/oversight in one of the many interviews they have given. :(

From now on I will impose this restriction voluntarily in my BG2 games.
