From what I've heard, this should be somewhat easy, and do-able by one who'd never ever created any mod for anything before...

So my questions is:
</font> Is it truely that easie? Where can I find some sort of tutorial? Where can I find programs to do this with?
The idea was inspired from this (http://www.sorcerers.net/ubb/ultimatebb.php?/topic/2/7842.html) thread...

Cromwell's Smithy is an easy-to-use utility, third from the top on this page (http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG2/index_editors2.php). I went from nothing to six custom items in only an hour.

Okay, I keep getting an error whenever attempting to make a name or a description for my items with this progra, :flaming:

And this happens when you hit the "Update" button?

The only things I can think of is if it's not finding the dialog.tlk file (which would be fixable by insuring a correct path to the chitin.key file), or maybe the execution is fouled somehow.

The only problem I've ever had was 5, IIRC, and I figured out what causes that. You could also try PMing Sendel'ar (who submitted the software, but hasn't been posted in a year) or starting a new thread with "Cromwell's Smithy problem" in the subject.

EDIT:  Wait a minute, "Permission denied"? Are you running BGII at the same time as CS? I don't think you can have them both up at the same time.

Yes, it happens when I hit the update button :( and I'm possitive my chitin.key is correct.

You could also try PMing Sendel'arI think I'll do that. :)

If you want to distribute your items, then it would be much better to add text with WeiDU. http://www.weidu.org

making items is loads of fun, I tend to make entire ioutfits for a specific character build. I may one day create enough specialist items to kit out a party of 6.

The most uber item ever is my gauntlets of backstabbing which added +5 backstab multiplier and +2 damage for my kensai/thief mc. it was pretty sick... ah i want to make an item pack.

unfortunatly i can't figure out how to get weidu to work, tried it a while back to make a shop in Trademeet that aklso gave out a few quests, but even using a guide I failed miserable. Now wasnt this a lovely pointless post :p

I was thinking something alá a less overpowered version of an underrepressented items pack.

EDIT:
Sooo. I'm at creating this weapon pack. It will be packed with WeiDU, the original creators of different ideas will get credit for having dones so (dunno whether I'll make´a custom merchant, or if I'll reather just make the weaps available at some already existing merchants)..

By-the-by Malovae, what is your prob. with packing? WeiDU is really simple if you just take some time to look at other people stup, then you'll soon enough figure out how to do it..
