I am playing games excluding Imoen. One reason is that I hate listening to her whine. My evil players hate her, and as I usually like to play a Good Primary Character, I also get tired of her whining. Can't someone write her a script so she won't be so obnoxious?

So she thinks everything is creepy... MUST she keep on complaining on it? A lot of times I find excuses to let her go. Nalia is almost as bad, so I often don't include her as one of my NPC's.

I've checked out the Sorcerer's site for better scripts for both of them and have found none.

I've often felt like casting a Maze or Imprisonment spell on both of them at times.

Anyone?

You're asking someone to re-write Imoen's script? Haha! What you're asking is for someone to re-voice cast and re-program well over 200 lines of code. You'd have to reprogram the variables for her timed/occurence strings (random banter in other words - no small feat), break or change the cinematic sequences (even harder), and finally you'd have to do some pretty hefty editing in the Spellhold scripts.

True, Imoen has too big role in the plot. So you just better learn to like her :p

How can you not like Imoen? She's one of the funniest NPCs in the game. Some of her dialogue, especially with Keldorn and Sarevok, is hilarious.

Considering certain other female characters (I don't think I have to give names), Imoen doesn't whine all that much.

If you want, you could try the Imoen romance mod (without romancing her, duh!), banter packs or such things.

Well, you can brutally rape Imoen with the Romance mod... :evil:

IMO, Imoen is one of the more useful NPCs. I never fail to exclude her in my group although I always play Evil characters. Yes, she whines and whines but she does not leave.

Nah, I'm kidding, if we excluded everyone who's bhaal-spawn there'd be no-one left to "romance" at all. Have you seen how many chick's statues there were at the BG1 endgame? ;)

For me she never really complained, but it has been a while, maybe I just get nostalgic. Give her some of that green elven-chain, and some nice boots/cloak and you'll forget she was ever a nuisance. Thief/mage is actually not a bad combination.

Immy might be creeped out by dungeons, but, truth be told, she likes to fight!

She always says things like: "You asked for it!"

and "Oh, I'll show you a fight!"

Even though she is creeped out by dungeons, she is brave in combat! And very versatile too! IMHO, she is a better version of Nalia. I think Nalia is just there in the game as a backup Mage/Thief till you are on your way to rescue Immy.

Arm her with Fire Tooth, and you might like her a bit more, or maybe (to a lesser degree) a celestial dart (is that the name? IIRC).

Imoen is always whining, with that obnoxious nasal voice. I usually try to smite her into gobbets at the first opportunity. Anyway, she's Bhaalspawn, and we can't have her running about.

But, to answer the original post, no, there is little chance for a rewrite. Just take a different NPC.

I think just a mod that stops her from saying things when you select her is what's being asked for, and the easiest way to do that doesn't require a mod at all -- just go into your game variables and turn off the battle cries and selection sounds -- voila -- silence is golden! I hate most of the selection sounds for all characters, as well as the battlecries. I like my party members to focus on fighting, not yapping. And hearing Anomen say "the best leaders also follow" or Valygar say "giving orders, are we?" gets old after a while.

A nice idea for a mod might be to have extra random character sounds for the NPCs.

she would've been better suited to being a pure thief - there are too few of those in the game, and enough good mages already
