View Full Version : Problems in leaving Brynnlaw
Faragon Mon, 15th Oct '01, 9:15am Okay, I've just finished spellhold in my third walk through the game... Decided I wanted to meet some of those fishy figures, so I told Saemon I'd join his ship. I was a little late in stealing the horn, but well, after say one day, I got it.
Went to Desharik's boat, didn't see any Saemon Havarian. Checked entire of Brynnlaw, and found him: at the Inn. Apparently he was stuck there, and the comp made him think he was on the ship. When I gave him the horn, the screen faded away, and I found myself back to a wall some distance from my original position. Saemon starts his questtalk, and Desharik interrupts. The talk ends where I should start to fight the pirates, but there are none, because were not at the ship! Went to the ship, no pirate lord there either...
I don't have any save from before I got the horn, well one just before Firkraag, but that's quite the amount of hours/levels back... a lot back.
So I'm stuck now. I know I can take the Underdarkportal under Spellhold, but I really want to go underwater... Perhaps I can fix this with Shadowkeeper? (Just dl'd it to take a peek, and saw the possibility of altering 'stateflags' Perhaps that's a way?)
Anyway, I'd like to thank in advance for any advice.
p.s. This was in offline Multiplayer.
Extremist Mon, 15th Oct '01, 3:41pm Will you stop messing with that util already?!
It can't help you now nor will ever be able to.
Ok, if I understood your problem correctly, it is one of the scripts you have corrupted. So, I mailed you three of those. Just copy them into OVERRIDE folder and it should work fine - Saemon should appear outside near the shipyard.
If it fails, post again and you'll be told what exact command(s) are needed to place in the Console in order to solve this thing.
Headbanger Mon, 15th Oct '01, 4:05pm There is another option. Go into the Spellhold Asylum. You will meet Seamon there again. You can there also choose to go to his ship.
Faragon Mon, 15th Oct '01, 5:38pm Well, first off, I merely opened it with SK to see if I could make any sense of the problem with it, which I couldn't, so I exited thinking so much for that idea
I received the files, attached as *.bsc ... thing is, when I download them, they're displayed as *.bsc.bc files... Tried them out anyway, but they didn't work. Nothing in the situation changed, but I think that's because of the morphed filename... Could you perhaps send them in a zipfile to woutsmits@hotmail.com ? That should prevent my comp from downloading it in the wrong filetype. I appreciate your help very much!
P.S. To Headbanger, I went back to spellhold to see if I got any further there, but there was no Saemon to be found there...
Extremist Mon, 15th Oct '01, 5:45pm Requested (zip) file mailed. Post if it worked!
Faragon Mon, 15th Oct '01, 6:03pm Zipfile received, I copied the files to the override folder, but it doesn't seem to work. Saemon, the bloody drinkin' bastard :) is still at the Inn...
any other thoughts? :(
Extremist Mon, 15th Oct '01, 6:19pm Yes.
Go to the spot in front of the Pirate Lord's ship (it is guarded by one pirate).
Activate the console.
Type this in the console:
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("StealShip","GLOBAL",1)
If Saemon doesn't appear after this, then issue this command:
CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("PPSAEM3")
[EDIT]
If I copied right, Saemon should be on this spot (press x on keyboard to see): X=2949, Y=2504, but that doesn't matter. What matters is that you go and talk to him WITH the horn in inventory.

Faragon Mon, 15th Oct '01, 7:25pm Nope, dammit, it doesn't work... I used both commands, didn't work. Killed Saemon for being a b*tch, tried both commands again, didn't work.
(EDIT: More specific, nothing in the situation changed. I do have the horn in my invent, so that shouldn't matter.)

zaknafein Tue, 16th Oct '01, 8:43am well personally i think your screwed so if i was you id just run straight into that portal or go back to firkragg
Faragon Tue, 16th Oct '01, 12:24pm Well, running into the portal doesn't work, since iirc Saemon should destroy those wards, and for him to do that he needs to be in Spellhold, but he's stuck at the Inn...
Hmm, back to Firky, well let's say I got stuck on day 61, and Firky's last day was number 31... Ouch... Think I'll load the Firky save, import all the chars from the broken save, race towards Brynnlaw with my advanced chars to continue my quest. That would give me some experience I don't deserve, but I'll hit the Expcap before finishing ToB anyway... (And as for the Items I will not pick up what I don't have already)
Anyway, thanx for all the help.
Laksol Wed, 17th Oct '01, 3:24am Don't you have an autosave?
Vormaerin Wed, 17th Oct '01, 8:07am I'm sure the autosave is quite corrupted since he mentioned several actions that would have triggered the autosave subsequent to whatever caused the corruption.
Still, thirty days is a rather long time to go without an archive or quicksave. :(
Aloha
Vormaerin
Faragon Wed, 17th Oct '01, 11:28am Actually, it didn't take that long with the imported chars... Raced back to Athkatla, began and finished all mustdo shadowthievesquests, went straight to spellhold (merely dropped by that cowled wizard for his wardstone) attacked Irenicus with my army of madness, and went to the underwatercity. In all, it took me a couple of hours, but hey, I made it :p
And yes, all other saves were corrupted... Now on to the Illithid Lair :)
Headbanger Wed, 17th Oct '01, 4:49pm I'm glad that you completed this part after all troubles. Good luck with your journey, may the light of the gods enlighten your path and help you to fight the Darkness
Extremist Wed, 17th Oct '01, 5:32pm Faragon, it is impossible that command with PPSAEM3 won't spawn Saemon. Have you typed it correctly (WITH quotes)?
Have you issued it near pirate lord's ship?

Faragon Mon, 22nd Oct '01, 1:16pm sorry for the late reply, the net's been down on me for the past few days...
Well, yes, I did exactly what you said I should, but nothing in the situation changed... Doesn't matter now, I've gone far past that point now, just killed gromnir :)
