After Having to format my computer, re-organize my partions, and fixing me old BG1 CD's(thanks to the gentle guidiance of Kitrax), I'm finally ready to begin this great adventure.

Player Character
************************
Name: Yulp

Gender: male

Race: gnome
why: Because he looks funny with a spear :p

Class: Kensai
Why: Mainly because he'd be pretty tough to play through BG1 with. I'm having grave difficulties as to which class I should choose, though.

Alignment: True neutral
why: because of the party combination of good, evil and neutral chars.

stats:

S 12 (13)

D 15 (Can't remember if there's a dex book in bg 1 too)

C 15(16)

W 10(11

I 12(13)

Ch 18(19)

1st roll when I hit the abilities screen. So, no re-rolls. placed all those points in Ch because that seemed to be the best place to put them, in order to avoid getting too much benefit from a high stat (besides cheaper prices in stores - mind that I can't have A 20 Rep).

Skills:

** Spears
** Two-Handed weap fight
evenly divided skills among the two stats throughout bg1... In 2, we'll see

************************
What's this 'bout?

If you have forgot, then here it is again:

Olimikrig worte:
Okay. I'm tired of greasily overpowered parties or solo chars. So I came up with the idea of the misunderstood personalities party. My aim with this/these party(s) is to put each character in combat situations they weren't meant for, to find funny party combinations with NPCs there had weird/funny/annoying banter. All characters will be melee only! Yes, melee only. therefore I will aim for using characters who really aren't all that in melee.
That said, let's first have a look on the PC I've been thinking about:
NOTE: Keep in mind that I'm playing bg1 tutu, and SoA + ToB with naught some Ease components AND tactics modHere I'll be updating how it fares, for anyone who'd be interested in seeing whether this weak party has any chance at all (Especially in BGII).

I will be waiting with anticipation! If you can manage to beat the game, I am sure everybody will be really impressed! Your creativity and courage have already been proven though.

Care to add some screenshots from your game for us to have a look, if you know how to do it? (NOW I am really excited!)

Thus Far

Well, I would lie if I said that everything has gone smooth, okay would be a more sooting word.
You now, when you play Bg1 with a normal party, and meet a pack of Gibberling, you think 'Oh no, it
is soo trivial to slay these weaklings'. With this party I tend to think 'Oh no! Gibberlings; run fer ye
life mates!' :p

The mage, tarnesh(sp), at FAI went down rather easy (easier than I'd thought anyways). I didn't bother to take Jaheira and Khalid along, as they would only steal even more exp than Immy, Xzar and Monty already did (I'm going to keep Xzar and Monty least till I get Quayle).

Grabbed the Ring of Wizardry in the hollow tree at FAI, and the ring of protect in the area just below. Then I went to Beregost.

Immy suggested (tutu banter packs) that we go to Feldpost Inn, so I though 'what the heck. Why not?'. And went we did.

Seconds after the sequence of me entering the Feldpost, Monty began to pick on a poor townsman who'd lost his son.
We barely slew the man and his friend (Which didn't help our general reputation squat), and I, of course, had to reprimand Monty afterwards (he hates when I call him Monty), telling him to 'Pick his fights with a bit more care. (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload3/misunderstood.JPG)

After a good night of sleep, we woke up, only to hear that a theft had happened! Our neighbor, Algernon, had gotten his favorite cloak stolen!
Imoen had gone disappearing too.

People were still looking at us with suspicion after the dispute with the two locals last night, so I thought we'd better hit the road.
A town Crier told us that a maniac named Bassilus were killing people, only to raise them as zombies and skeletons. I suggested that we look into matters, and Xzar thought it was an excellent idea (for some reason he began calling it *his* idea).
Before we left, however, a young Bard named Garrick (Imoen fancy him for Helm knows which reasons) approached us.
His mistress, a mage named Silke, were being bullied by some Feldpost thugs. At first, we accepted to protect here, but when these "thugs" showed up, the truth was revealed: It was actually Silke Who'd bully these poor men. Som with some effort (A sh** load of re-loads,
since Silke kept killing Garrick with a Lightning), we slew her.
After that Garrick traveled with us.

So we finally went to meet this Bassilus. Turned out he was even more crazy than we'd first anticipated. With the help of Xzar I managed to make so mad, he lost control over the undeads, who immediately was destroyed.
I still can recall how it'd happen, but somehow I managed to slay (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload3/Basillus.JPG)
him meself.
After that I went to the ocean to get some fresh air, but on the way I was assaulted by a knobogoblin named Zartak, or some such, and his goons.
Quickly I drank a potion of defense, and charged at him single handed. When we were sure that he would keep focus on me, the rest of the group charged (Garrick almost fell due to the weight of the heavy warhammer - beats me why he uses something his so un-proficient with)...
After he wnet down, I slowly proceeded toward his goons, who we'd kept out of sight (fog-of-war Garrick tol me it was called, weird.).
again, I approached them first, due to the -4 AC I'd got when I drank the potion.
Their Arrows did'na hurt me too much, and after a while the rest charged.

When we finally arrived at the ocean, some weirdo named Brage came talk to me. He had a riddle, I couldn't quite figure it out, (I have an Int of only 10), but Xzar told me that my answer were not of importance, so I just answered death (sooted the situation the best I though).
We agreed to escort Brage to the Temple of Helm in Nashkel (Under the protests of Monty), and got a decent reward.

Just outside of the Temple we met the Mayor Berun Ghastkill, who assigned us to clear the mines from a demon infestation.

So now we're heading toward the Nashkel mines. Onward!

@ Tal: I'll send some good SS's. I'm possitive that this party will generate some good ones!

Thus Far
So this chick attacked me in Nashkell (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload5/Assasin1.JPG). Immy quickly charmed her with a purple cloak she'd bought in Beregost (So she says).
We made her waste all of her spells before we charged our self. Despite the efforts of the party, she almost killed poor Imoen.

After that little rendezvous we went to the mines (Some commoner's wife told us to look for her husband in the mines, we declined as we had better things to do).

We met an 'artist' named Prism not far from the mine entrance. I'd heard 'bout him in Nashkell, a big reward was placed on his head.
So I decided that we kill him and claim the bounty; but then Garrick began to cry, saying stuff like: We must let this man finish his beautiful creation, and so on...
I was tempted to kill Garrick instead of Prism, but where would we be without the 'Brave, brave' Sir Garrick?'
To shut his gap I decided to do as he begged me to.
Not much after accepting to protect Prism, Greywolf appeared! All I can say is That I was an utter and complete moron to listen idiot Garrick!
Everyone got killed (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload5/Greywolf.JPG) Except I (Though only barely) and Branwen, who ran off in panic after being hit naught but a single time!

*Sigh*

Well, I returned with the Emeralds in Nashkell (He had stolen those), and got my more than well-earned reward (which barely covered the cost of resurrecting 4 people!!!)
After that we finally left for the Mines themselves.

The owner was more than happy to let me search the mines...

OK, I do not know anything about BG, and had to avoid reading lots of your adventure not to spoil my game if I ever play it, but I must say Screenshots really speak! That one when your PC critical-hitted, chopped and killed the bad-guy Graywolf is really cool!

Keep up the good work, I am very excited to see what will happen when you get into the BG2 and Tactics mods (you will have Improved Ilych too right? GREAT FUN!)

Umm, how much time will it take for you to finish BG1 and ToSC? Not too long I hope, but please do not rush in the game, enjoy it as you probably will have the most strange and coolest party ever assembled! (if you live up to that, that is it. Still, don't be discouraged!)

Okay, might tone a bit down on the in-game facts, so I wont spoil anyones game.

I must say Screenshots really speak! That one when your PC critical-hitted, chopped and killed the bad-guy Graywolf is really cool!Heh :heh: , the funniest part of that one is that If I hadn't drunk the pot of hill giant str, I probably wouldn't have made that critical hit, and if I hadn't made that critical hit (if had just made a regular hit or none at all), then Greywolf would 'ave killed me on his next attack (chopped through Monty's -1 AC on each hit, sure he'd chopped through my Kensais +7 AC as well :p ), and if that had happened, I would have been slaughtered.

Okay, I have to ask (concerning the first screenshot): Did you guys kill *everyone* walking around in Feldpost's? If so, what hit did your reputation take?

olimikrig
Wed, 21st Sep '05, 4:01pm
Nope. Only those two :p I got tutu banter packs, which, when Monty's in the party, makes him insult the dude, so he and his friend attacks.
It's scripted so noone else goes hostile, but I suffered a -4 rep for killing the Marl's friend, though none for killing Marl (as in normal bg).

@ Aih: I do my best to make it at the very least presentable :p

*SPOILER ALERT*

Thus far

When we arrived in the Mines. Imoen *unfortunately* died, we didn't have the money to resurrect her, and not the time for a proper burial either, so we just left her body for the Kobolds (Yeah, Kobolds! Stupid Miners told me it were Dmeons, scared the living crap out o' Garrick. Had to pad his shoulder, calling him Brave *Sir* Garrick [Come to think of it, Garrick kind of reminds me of - despite that he's a coward, which pompeius weren't - Gnaeus Pompeius who insisted to be called 'Magnus'. *phew* as the patrician bonis would ever do *that*. Or maybe they did? Couldn't be before after he'd married Cornelia Scipia, after his poor Julia passed away...] Anyways, for hours).
As we worked our way down the mines, killing more Kobolds (Stealth and charge for those pesky commanders) we stumbled upon a lair of some sort.
Within it we found, yay  more Kobolds! Oh, and a imprisoned Elven enchanter too (well, he was a sorc in my game - tutu). He told us that a Half-Orc had stolen his beloved Moonblade.
I really couldn't care less, but we could use him seeing as both Immy and Xzar had passed away. So we went to fight this Mulahey.
First, I send Monty in. good ol' Monty backstabbed him, but as soon as his obligated 'badass-evil-dude dialogue' had finished, he threw 'hold' at him.
Now this was bad, as you can probably imagine. So I went in wearing the Cloak of Algeron and charmed Mulahey. Some Kobolds saw me and I had Mulahey throw Entangle and Hold (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload9/mula1.JPG) on them.
I made Mulahey kill the Kobolds, and gathered my characters around (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload9/mula2.JPG)him.
I prepared, and attacked quickly (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload9/mula3.JPG). He went down easy...

When Mulahey was down, we took the items, and scrolls, and such from his chest, and left his domain. Instead of going the normal way back through the mines, Xan informed me that I could take a path leading north, 'round a lake.
At the end we met some slimes, though they were dispatched of with little effort.
outside in this new Area Monty went scouting , and made some acquaintances (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload1/Eeek-.JPG).

He also met a Mage (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload7/Arrr-.JPG), though he newer introduced me to him properly.

I decided it was 'bout time to head back to Nashkell, someone owed me a reward, but on the way I was assaulted by some Amazon chick assasins!
Xan threw a sleep spell immediately after seeing them; Branwen threw Doom at their leader, and Monty who'd hidden prior to entering battle backstabbed the Archer.
Unfortunately the two other goons slew him before I could react. Branwen threw a hold, but that did'na work, so I charmed the leader instead.
Now that I had control over the amazon chick, I made her throw some spells on the two others.
When I felt ready for it, the group charged with all they had. That wasn't exactly me brightest idea to date (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload7/pew.JPG).
Well, we conquered against all odds in the end, I'll just have Garrick *work* a wee on the "true" story before it get's published (Damn you Volo :nono: ).

Back in Nashkell I got the guys revived, and re-geared. Outside the local Inn, yet another assassin (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload8/Ha-_ye_twat.JPG) arrived at the scene. Despite his fancy 'I'm-a-badass-so-just-give-up' dialogue, he went down easy.
That is only 'cus I'd made the right preparations, though.

Guess Branwen's as good as Monty when it comes to picking her fights  (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload3/Helm--sSakeBranwen.JPG)
Monty goes staelthy! Yeah baby, yeah..! (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload4/SneakyMonty.JPG)
What Foul Magic is this!!! (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload0/MethinksYouNoChickenNormal.JPG) <- No ordinary talking chicken? , hast thou ever met a regularly talking chicken :hmm:
*Tsk*,*tsk*... An Antichickenator spell isn't something to be played with! (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload4/Antichikenator.JPG)

*SPOILER ALERT*

Thus far

Back in Beregost we met the red Wizard once more. He said that twas time to reveal his true identity. The first thought that came to my mind was Taluntain  ! But then Branwen reminded me that he could nay be the Pink wizard, 'cus, well - he wasn't pink!
Some Officer from the great City of Baldur's Gate wanted to speak with me: She would pay me for each bandit scalp that I could provide. Neat, in a disgusting kinda way.

We finally faced Tranzig, a goon of Mulahey's, in the a roome on the second floor of Feldpost Inn. It would seem that this wizard was in fact the one who'd petrified poor Branwen; so we charged at the prick!
This is getting kind of trivial, each time I write: And we charged... the sentence is followed up with a Which wasn't one of my brightest ideas (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload3/Helm--sSakeBranwen.JPG) (Not to mention the deja vou of me and Branwen being the only survivors...

Once again the ocean called for me, it felt like a pulling of sorts, so I went.

As I entered the Lighthouse area, something very weird happened. It was as everything suddently went in slow-motion. Xan activated some otherwordly powers on his Moonblade, and we actually teleported! Cool beyond words(He called it CLUA or some such).
We picked up Safana, teleported to the cave, killed the Sirines (Or they actually rather killed each other, as I charmed one of them, Xan another, they killed the third, and began killing each other afterwards).

Safana had warned me that powerfull Flesh Golems were guarding the cave, and I for one didn't want to take on a Flesh golem! Monty hid in the shadows, and ran in to grab the items.
As soon as he'd taken the items, his pressence was revealed. At firstr Montaron stood frozen to the ground, but just before the flesh Golem could lay it's arms at his neck, he remembered that I'd packed an extra Potion of Invisibility (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload4/SneakyMonty.JPG) in his backpack this morning.
We escaped with some decent items, and a boring book...

Twas a sunny day that we stumbled upon the foultest of magic the realms had ever seen! In the wilderness we encountered naught but a Talktative Chicken! (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload0/MethinksYouNoChickenNormal.JPG)
What do one do, let alone a common gnome like, when facing one of naturest most evil apparations!?! Well, one dost nay dare stand against the will of a talking chichen, so we promised to escort it to a mage named Talanthyr, who held his residence in the area above.
It was first when we met Thalantyr that I fully understood the situation: The chicken was nay a divine apparation, but a stupid aprentice who'd played with dangerous magics, and gotten himself polymorphed.
Talanthyr explained that in order to restore Melicamp to his original self, he'd need a human skull as a component. Fortunately I never travel without my faithful drinking' skull. Though it was a sad day that we departed, I knew I could always kill Garrick if I wanted a new one.
Let the magic's begin I told Thalantyr, and so it did. Unfortunately poor Melicamp died in the procees; but at least he went with a blow! :hahaerr: (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload4/Antichikenator.JPG)

The Bandit Camp Awaits!

(By-the-by, sold the manual of Bodily Health, my PC was already the main killing force of the party, it would ruin the concept if he became better. With all the books hed end up with a total stat score of 87... Now he has 82, which in regularly D&D (at least the characters my dices can roll) just about a normal roll.with 87 we'd gotten a wee to close to the 90', which is a über roll. I got to remind myself sometimes´that I want to keep this party weak! That's why I've also decided to dish Elgernon's Cloak. It simply makes too many a fight, a walk in the park. If I want to charm, Xan got to do the job!).

Bah, he wouldn't leave one of his end characters dead; he probably just hasn't gotten back to town yet.

@olimikrig:
How long are you going to keep Branwen and Monty? Are you gonna wait until you can replace them with Quayle and Tiax, or will you dump them even earlier?

EDIT: On second thought, don't dump your only healer until you've got replacements. Branwen is certainly misunderstood enough (everybody prefers Viconia) to stick around for a little while.

Tutu, Xan = Sorc...
The reason why I made Xan a sorc: Lvl cap! Xan will have a small selection of spells available to him at the end of the game, but will be able to cest these spells loads of times (ring of wiz = he has 12 lvl one spells atm).
Another thing I had to focus upon was that Xan is melee. Yes MI is great when he's melee. However, he have only lvled up once by now, andhave naught but rainbow hands spell thingie, charm person and Mage arm... (which I chosed when he lvled up), by the time I reach Tazok, I don't think he'll have Mirror Image yet :p

*SPOILER ALERT*

Thus far

A fateful night I cought Branwen giving Garrick's War Hammer long looks. At first I didn't thought much of it, - which would prove to be a great mistake indeed.
As we went to sleep she stole it. Fate would that I was having bad dreams, so I awoke and cought her in this foul act (always thought that was more of a montish thing).
I left her at FAI naked as the day we'd met her.
Thought 'bout leaving Montaron too, but I had a greater plan in stock fer him.

As we travelled the northern country side(Drizzt, who we'd met earlier - I didn't thought it of importance, I mean, who want to talk about a grumpy ol' Drow when we can talk about me? Eh, guys? - Had suggested that we look here - Oh Elmisnter too  ), we met a group of Red Wizards!
Though I tried, we could nay talk sense into their thick skulls, so I thought we might beat it into them.
At first, everything went "as planned" that was till one of 'em threw horror, however.
Fleeing like a bunch of Garrick's! Note to those who fights wizards of Thay: Be prepared! (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload0/Thay.JPG) most my party went down to Melf's Acid arrow and a Magic Missile..

*Sigh*

Yet once more I had to head back to the FAI to get them resurrected, before we could continue.

Twas a stormy day that fortuna lured me into her grasp. In Peldvale we met some Bandits, and they accepted to take us to their leader Tazok. When we arrived me mouth went all Cicero I tell ya! Couldn't control it, so ended so ended up having to fight Tazok *Gulp* (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload7/Gulp.JPG)
All I can say is: boy was I stupid.... Back to FAI, resurrect the mates, back to camp. ready? okay, go. Well, Tazok said that I was now part of the gang, but soon as he'd left, the bandits started attacking me (guess they did'na agree on hirering me, yet who want to work with Hobgoblins anyways? I mean they really, really smell! - Take it from one who'd been there.
Boy is this place A pain in the arse!. Progress is soo slow(be there more than one or two banidts at a time, I can bet on half my party to be blown to bits)...
Monty went in sneaky mode, and lured bandits into our net.
Suddenly we stumbled upon a heavily armored man. He was no mere bandit, not be a long shot.
All I can say is Thank Helm, no thank AO that wand of paralyze worked! (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload8/ThankAOthaWandOfParalyzeWorked.JPG) Otherwise we'd have been slaughtered...

With the exterior bandits dead thouhroughly, I faced focus upon the main Tent. 'Soon as we entered, we were attacked (after the obligated badass-evil-dude-die-by-me-hands-wormling dialogue).
Again The wand of Paralyze cam in handy (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload3/THisWandhIsHandy.JPG).
Upon entering Xan thre one at the mage 'fore he could throw a single spell! QUickly, my guys charged at the two melee guys.
Safan were hit by a poisonous arrow, and Xan once again used the wand to passivate the Archer. With the mage and archer longe gone, the two melee orientated guys went down with some effort, and tons of healing potions.
After that, killing the two paralyzed guys were a walk in the park (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload3/Diieee-.JPG).

Now was time fer my revenge on Monty. The lad 'd always had a nack for opening a weird lock, hiding and backstabbing, but! *drums*, he can nay tell the difference between a trap and a dinner plate!
but I could! Oh had I waited for the right moment when I could secure the "release" of Monty in a most painful and decieving way. Now was the time.
I send Monty to try and pick the lock on the chest, but as he touched it The trap went of (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload3/PoorPoorMonty.JPG).
Bye poor Monty, I promise I won't cry for thee...

After that I returned to Beregøst, and delevered the scalps for a welcoming reward.

The Cloakwood Mines await us!

Side Note
soon I'll have to erase the earlier SS's, due to the fact that I do nay have enough free space on me upload account.
Maybe one of ye guys/girls can appoint me to a uploading site? Otherwise I might have to tone a wee down on the SS's in teh future.

Thanks, your party and screenshots are really cool! :thumb: I saw Tazok but he was different in BG2, much bigger and uglier.

Why is Garrick always dead in most of your Screenshots? Is he so weak that he dies that often? Or you like him getting killed?

And about Immy, I know she will be back in BG2 and for that I am glad. That is, if you do not have any more nasty plans for her in BG2! :nono:

BTW, if anybody knows how to store Screenshots, please do tell Olimikrig, he will put that to god use!

olimikrig

Nope... I'm using tutu tweaks, with 'miscast magic' percentile on all armors. So a Chain Mail would afair make him miscat approximately 50% of the time. Imho he's better of using mage armor.

EDIT: thanks for the "point" :heh: it would be a shame for anyone who'd read this now or later not being able to view the SS's.

The Silvertar special edition
For the sake of anyone who'd read this, and don't want any Spoiler(s), I've posted the links to each of the SS's below, and provided a short description.
If you don't want Spoilers, then do not read one!

Some druids harrazed this man in Cloakwood :nono: I'll have to teach you a lesson - with the end of my sword  ! *erhm* I mean daggers, spear and warhammer  (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload9/DieDruids.JPG)

*SPOILER ALERT*

Thus far
After tricking *poor* monty into triggering the trap, I stripped him from every values he'd posses, scalped him and dumped his corpse in the nearest river. Might as well do the
job proper, not only killing him but also every trace if his existence  !
With 19 bandit scalps, plus Monty's, I headed for Beregost to receive my payment for each Bandit scalp. Officer Vai much appreciated it, now she could finally
return to the Gate.

This dwarf named Gurke told us about a famous cloak he'd lost to some Talsoi's, whilst traveling the Cloakwood Forest.... Might be worth lookin' into, since
we're heading there anyways.

So in the CLoakwood Forest I met this guy named Aldeth, or some such... A nearby settlement of druids had harassed him and his comrades, in the midst of their
anual hunting trip. Things had evolved badly, and the druids had finally sought to violence, and killed two of Aldeth dearest friends.
Personally I hate those Druid folks! I mean c'mon!?! What's all that balance thing they're rambling on about? Balance, *pft*, between what? so-called "good" and "evil"?
No such thing exist! There's only you, and the tools nature provides. Helping another fellow humanoid being is not goodness, but fits whether it suit's the current situation,
whether it helps you achieve something, or if injustice has been wrought against him! Justice and injustice do exist! Injustice is never a question of
"good" and "evil", but a question whether a man's right to live as he goddamn wish has been inflicted upon...
So we helped him... What a grand Fight (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload9/DieDruids.JPG), which ended at our benifit, with only minor casulties.
Aldeth was wholeheartedly greateful, and told us to seek him out in the Merchant's league, should we ever visit the city of Baldur's Gate.

As we travelled further into the darkness of Cloakwood, my little party and I stumbled upon a boy in trouble: His brother had been abducted by aliens! No wait, that's
gibberish, it was Spiders (What the heck, spiders/aliens - they're green all the same; some of them at least... "Shut up Garrick! If I wanted your opinion I'd ask! *hrmpf*.)
Well, I thought this task was somewhat heroic, and as it was on our way anyways, I accepted...
(As they say "Fortuna favors the brave", or maybe it's just his name Tiber that got me thinkin' thus  ).

I noticed your PC is still using a normal spear, and he has 3 of them all in quick-weapon slots? Why do you carry 3 spears? Incase one is broken or thrown? :D Why don't you sell some for a few GP? Isn't there a magical spear in BG1? Maybe because of this it is your weapon of choice? Haven't you ever met a critter immune to normal weapons? If so how did you beat it? Am I asking too many question?

Yes, my PC has three, in case of one should brake. I have ~20,000GP atm, so the 4gp a spear would give me, is really that much ;) .

Isn't there a magical spear in BG2? You mean BG1, right? Iirc, yes there is. I just haven't stumbled upon one as it is. There IS magical spears in bg2 (otherwise my item pack would have implemented quite a few anyways :p ).

Haven't you ever met a critter immune to normal weaponsThere's no mobs immune to norm weaps in bg 1, iirc that is!

Am I asking too many question?    Ask away .

Oh stupid me, I was in a haste so mistyped a few things, NOW edited though.

Yes ofcourse I meant in BG1, I know BG2 afterall, and you are not playing it for now right?

Anyway, isn't there at least a zombie or undead critter immune to NW? Then magical weapons are not htat precious (but still they are rare soo...) Or do mages cast PfNW, speaking of which is 5th level so probably offlimits of BG1? OK! :)

In the screenshot, when Safana hits the druid, why does he make a save vs death? Is her weapon poisonous? Does she have a kit? Just curious you know!

olimikrig
Mon, 3rd Oct '05, 5:22pm
(but still they are rare soo...)But magical weapons are very important in bg1!

--*tiny SPOILER*--
An Iron shortage has wrecked regular metal, so any non-magical weapons are bound to break...

Or do mages cast PfNW, speaking of which is 5th level so probably offlimits of BG1? OK!I think that a few mages in ToSC has Protection from normal weaps (by then you'll have magical weapons for all anyways), and maybe some mages in the late stages too.. (can't remember whether doon guards and such are immune to normal weapons).

In the screenshot, when Safana hits the druid, why does he make a save vs death? Is her weapon poisonous? Does she have a kit? Just curious you know!Yes, and yes... She dual wields a dagger +2 and a dagger of venom +2... She's also swashbuvkler, btw...

Mon, 3rd Oct '05, 8:08pm
Don't worry, he'll run into a magical spear soon enough. IIRC, there's one in the mines and one in the city. There's also a halberd +1 way down to the south, but...meh.

Anyway, isn't there at least a zombie or undead critter immune to NW? Well, I believe the revenant is immune, but he's not someone I'd chance going up against with this group. :shake: Since there's no PfNW spell in the game, I'd guess nobody casts it, and using melee weapons will bypass the ever-popular PfNM (Missiles).

@olimikrig:

Are you not going to do all the side-quests, or will you be revisiting areas?Nope, only doin' areas relevant to the main quest. I'm RPing this one as best as I can, and my PC truely is "canon", somewhat at least. He don't like the adventuring al that much, and as you can see he's not much of a "sure, I'll help you" guy :p .
SO I'm basically goin' like this(*SPOILER ALERT*):

Nashkell->Bandit Camp->Cloakwood mines->Ugloth's beard and werewolf Island->Baldur's Gate->Candlekeep revisited->Durlag's Tower :shake: ->Baldur's Gate Revisited....

The ToSC part is givin' me quite some troubles, as I can't really get it to "fit in", so might end up dishing it...

Gee, Safana! You really *are* a master scout (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload6/doh.JPG)
*Sigh* Yet another pestering Bard (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload2/EldothJoins.JPG)
Giant SPiders (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload3/Spiders-.JPG)'
Paralyzation, thou art forever mine friend! (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload1/para.JPG)
We fear no Mage (well, maybe just a wee ) (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload6/downWithYa.JPG)

Thus far(*SPOILERS AHEAD!*)
We decided that helping Tiber simply wasn't worth the effort, so I sent Safana ahead, cloaked in the shadows. She stumbled upon a goup of Ettercap's a wee north of us. As the born scout she is, she returned and notified us of the forthcoming threat. After a short briefing, a plan was quickly established:
Safana would sneak ahead, and one by one luring the ettercaps into our nest; facing them all at once would surely be a grave mistake indeed!
So much for that plan! (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload6/doh.JPG) Safana your moron! Well, despite the unfortunate turn of events, we managed to overcome anyways (without Garrick dying, mind you  ).

After travelling a wee further north, Safana scanned the area once more. It proved safe, so we decided to set camp. Garrick (why do I even bother dragging this guy along?
I mean it's *always* Garrick! Oh yes, I forgot hoe invaluable brave brave (sir) Garrick is with his warhammer and he's oh-so-not-annoying-at-all cheerful spirit :p bah), of course fell asleep, in the midst of our slumber, we were besieged! Oo so we thought, it was just yet another, *sigh*, Bard named Eldoth, who sought our help, in the return of his favors. We needed an extra man (though *not* an extra Bard), so we accepted. (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload2/EldothJoins.JPG)

I figured that this man needed a more, hmm, suitable weapon, so we headed towards the Friendly Arm Inn, in the hopes that Bentley would have something neat
in stock for us.. On the way, though, we were attacked by giant spiders! (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload3/Spiders-.JPG) *Pfew*, I'd almost drawn my last breath there! Oh what a cruel fate hatest I but naught kicked Garrick one last time in the rear-end!
I decided to give Eldoth a Quarterstaff! Nothing beats a good ol' quarterstaff, right? Guys? Safana? meh -.-

Note to self: Do NOT ever again send Garrick shopping (*Grrr* that name again)! The idiot was supposed to go to the temple and buy us a few bottles of healing potions and antidotes. The moron returned with no less than 20 elexir's of healing (No cheap stuff for us he said, only elixir's of healing, the most expensive ones, are good enough) and 15 potions of Antidote!?! That's a sum fo 7000gp for potions! Idiot, moron, imbecile, retard!

I was nearing my destination: The Iron Throne outpost located in the CLoakwood forest, when a bear(what takes?) attacked me... Quickly Xan tried a Colour Spray on it,though it did'na work.. (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload4/BearAttackEek.JPG) How sad, now we have to travel to the frickin' Friendley Arm Inn once *again* to get the prick resurrected!

As we encountered a group of Talsoi's, events took an - unfortunate - turn. Back to the FAI, resurrect the group, etc. etc. etc.... Ye' know teh drill by now.

Finally we had arrived: the cloakwood mines stood before us as a bastion of all that is rotten! So collosal! How would we ever overcome one must ask himself.
The usual precautions was taken: spells, pots, etc.. Safane hid, and snoke up to scout ahead.
Slowly Safana approached. She spotted two mages and two fighter. She re-drawed so that only he who seemed to be the leader was in sight, and used her ring of
Energy... This, of course, triggered yet another speach Weak-one-die-by-my-sword-etc. gibberish.... Well, he followed and Paralyzation, thou art forever mine friend! (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload1/para.JPG)
After numerous tries, Xan finally achieved to charm the second fighter, to much yayness of the group  (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload5/charmed.JPG).
This time, we decided to fully charge the two remaining mages. The plan was to try to paralyze one, and charm the other (and should things go wrong, we could
always sacrifice either Garrick. *ehm* I-I mean we could always sacrifice the charmed Genthore, of course, hehe :hahaerr: .
Well, at first we did'na succeed at either, but as the dimension doored mage re-appeared, the wand stroke successfully  (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload2/para-thuartminesalvation.JPG)...
We quickly charged at the second mage; <a href="http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload6/downWithYa.JPG" target="_blank">Xan tried another Charm, but didn't succeed. The mage got off a Horror spell, so we decided that the wise decision would be
to focus entirely at the mage, saving his summons for later</a> he went down easy. After that we slaughtered the paralyzed mage, and then we faced focus upon the summons, which died with the help of not so few potions of healing.

Now, we couldn't have Genthore suddenly turning upon *us*, so we gathered around him, and fought like real warriors (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload7/mwaha.JPG)(well, we tried at the very least!
With the death of him, we could finally turn to the mines themselves, and whatever danger's waiting us within....

Finally we stood face-to-face with this feared mage! (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload0/Daveron.JPG)
Oh glorius day! I slaughtered the vile bastard (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload1/TakeTHATscum.JPG)...

Thus far
At the entrance to the mines we were attacked by yet another guard. This place is quite well protected. We killed the bastard.

Many of of us still had bleeding wounds from the fierce battle of the gates, so we moved to a safer area within the Cloakwood, and set camp for a couple of days, while we healed.

---Each day that passes I feel more and more, - tainted, somehow. I keep having these bad dreams, loose my temper over minor issues, and enjoy the killing, the more of it I does.
What is wrong with me? All that fills me now is revenge! Revenge over me beloved Gorion...
Was it he who hold me at bay? Kept these feelings I'm overwhelmed by at distance? These questions pops up in my mind, as I'm sitting here, writing this. Who am I, and why did Gorion raise me, why did the armoured man try to kill me? Questions, only questions! No answers.. *sigh*

Within the mines themselves, a guard immediately spotted us. We had to dispatch of him, before he'd get time to warn other guards of our intrusion.

Further within the darkness of the mines, a peculiar man approached us. (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload7/1stGuard.JPG) he went down from a swift swing of goof ol' Mr. Spear.

As we met a miner in the northern regions of the first mine level, a plan unfolded! (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload9/aPlanUnfolds.JPG) The miner held the secret of flooding the mines, if we could only get to the key. Unfortunately the key was in the possession of the mine posterior, a man named Daveron. We would have to find a way to get it from him. I doubt, though, that he can be persuaded into handing it over with anything but the end of a sword (even though we own no such thing, mind you “Daggers for everyone!”).

We ran into a group of well-armed brigands! Yikes! Guys, I could use some help here... (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload8/Yikes.JPG) It was a slaughter, I tell ya. Quickly, I ran for cover. Xan was successful at charming the two guards who'd follow me, we sent them out as bait, to see what waited for us. Well, that wasn't a very cheerful sight, I can tell you. They were torn apart by four or so Black Talon Elite archers. Slowly Xan approached the room, focused, prepared (well as prepared as an melancholic homesick elf can get). As he saw the mage he quickly threw charm person (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload3/XanSavesTheDay.JPG). Success! The archer tore her down immediately after she turned “green”.

After that, there weren't really much to do, besides simply charging, and praying that the wand of paralysed charm spells would be successful.
Well, successful wouldn't quite be the right term here. Disaster might fit this scene better (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload9/sigh.JPG). The wand of paralyse worked quite well. Garrick got one of right after we entered the room. Xan tried a charm person again, but it failed. He was taken down by a poisonous arrow. Garrick got off another paralyse, as our comrades fell like flies around us. One were still left, and I didn't want to use the wand, as we need to save it for re-charge. Finally, we managed to take down the last fighter, as Garrick went into an offensive spin.

Garrick and I (imagine having no other company than Garrick for the time being!?!) gathered our fallen comrades gear, and looted the corpses of the cold, dead bandits. We headed for the Beregost temple, evading random encounters as they occurred (Wyverns are nasty beasts).
After getting the fellows raised we went to the city to purchase supplies, as Eldoth needed a new armour; the temple provided us with the healing we needed.

Mental Note: Gather 16k so you can re-buy the valuable wand of pluralization; or is that paralyzation? .

Back in the mines, Safana hid in the shadows, and went scouting the area ahead. The stairs was in the room next to us, but I figured we better go search for this Rill. We'd promised to secure the release of the slaves before flooding the mine, and a promise is a promise, even if it's a promise made to a low bandit's slave.
Rill was in the prison, located just below the stairs room... We gave him the 100gp he needed to bribe the captain on the 2nd floor.
With that done, we headed for the lower lvls.

*Gulp* (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload5/Ohsh-t.JPG)Guys, any suggestionsXan got of a charm person, and we send a guard attracting the attention of the archers. This, however, wasn't quite enough, and an arrow took down Garrick. (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload6/GarrickDead.JPG) So we threw yet another charm person, and send a second guard down this time really securing that the two unoccupied archers would have their hands full, by first attacking one, and as soon as he drew his sword, quickly attacking the other, as the first archer followed.
They slaughtered their former allies with ease, but unfortunately our second bard, Eldoth, died by the sword of an un-charmed guard. (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload3/Notagain.JPG) The remaining of us surrounded the guards one by one, and killed them.

We neither had the money nor the time to get the fallen friends raised, so we had to continue as it were.

Safana again went in hide, and searched some of the northern rooms. She found a few weaker guards, nothing she couldn't handle by herself.
A little hand-to-hand with a mageling resulted in the death of Xan  , we're all going to miss his cheerful spirit. Well, sh*t happens and all that I guess. The show had to go on, with or without him. (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload6/hand2hand.JPG)

A guard Attacked us as we entered this lvl. He got the better half of Eldoth  , now we're only three to do the job from hereon (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload2/BetterOf.JPG).

Safana spotted A trap in the halway (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload7/traps.JPG). She told me her divine oracle, Felinoid or some such, had warned her they would summon forth a couple of Doom guards (one can only shiver at the mere mentioning of this horror!).

Finally we stood face-to-face with this feared mage! (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload0/Daveron.JPG) He kept teleporting from room to room. We got him occasionally, and as he finally ran out of teleport spells, we got him to near death. But then he held Garrick, and summoned forth a pack of ogres, that killed Garrick on sight (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload2/summonForth.JPG). Now, I was wearing the boots of speed, and was all alone against a powerful mage, and a pack of nasty summons. Quickly I ran for it, and waited for the spell to run out.

By the time I was ready, Daveron had fully healed  ! I drank a potion of Magic blocking, prayed to every god I knew, and charged... Oh glorius day! I slaughtered the vile bastard (http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload1/TakeTHATscum.JPG)... Now I didn't want to miss out on any goodies, and between the two of us, 12 strength doesn't allow you to take that much... Soo I went to the FAI, got me mates raised, and returned to loot the place prior to flooding it.

We flooded the mine, killing the damn bandits within it! Oh what a joyus day this was!

Now, the great city of Baldur's Gate awaits us, one can only guess what dangers lie ahead...

Very interesting battle! Your PC is a wonder to finish the 'bos' guy without any NPCs (they are all dead) via critical hit, and a chunky death once again! Brilliant! And he has 12 str yes? Well even Nalia is stronger than him in muscles, though his kensai training gives him much many bonuses! :D

A few questions:

*I noticed a mage named Hareishan dying in one SS. I remember battling a vampire named Hareishan in BG2, is there a connection? Or Hareishan has a meaning I do not know?

*Grrick was dead, then he was alive in the next SS, as Fel mentioned? How? Did you load? (no shame on that)

*What are your levels, (again) and can you tell me the death counts (who killed the most? You?)

@Fel
I had to re-load after the first battle against the mage :( , she got Yulp with a Melf's Acid arrow.

I noticed a mage named Hareishan dying in one SS. I remember battling a vampire named Hareishan in BG2, is there a connection? Or Hareishan has a meaning I do not know? Not as far as I know.

*Grrick was dead, then he was alive in the next SS, as Fel mentioned? How? Did you load? (no shame on that)Question answered above.

What are your levels, (again) and can you tell me the death counts (who killed the most? You?)MY party's lvls are 5-6, and had I used a regular party, Us hould have been able to do the mines with no deaths :p

Erm you got me wrong, I just wanted the know the percentage of kills, for example what % Yulp killed and what was most powerful vanquished, that sort of things. Does BG1 have this function, but then you have TuTU so...?

And, why is Safana transformed into a dog (or wolf) in SSs? Is she an illegal swashbuckler/druid??? It's her special ability? Or is there an item that enables the wearer to shapechange at will?

Forgive me I am very ignorant about BG1, but in BG2, in Elven forest or such, I remember killing werewolves who tricked a guy and a lass and kiled them (also NPCs from BG1?) IS there a connection?

Dunno, it's not anything worth your while in bg2, I can assure you :p

CLUAConsole:CreateItem("CLCK04")

It's pretty much worthless in BG2, though. That wolf is weaker than most BG1 characters (if they're used properly of course ;) *with a nod to Olim*), so you can imagine how much it'd suck for a BG2 character. It sets your STR to 18 and your DEX to 17, as well as making your only weapon a piddling little 1d8 that counts as only a +1 weapon. Damn near impossible to hit (much less kill) anything in BG2 with that. It'd be a good way for olim to increase the difficulty in BG2, though.

The Silvertar special edition
For the sake of anyone who'd read this, and don't want any Spoiler(s), I've posted the links to each of the SS's below, and provided a short description.
If you don't want Spoilers, then do not read one!

Foul beasts! Stay back, I tell you. Stay back, or – or else! (http://files.upl.silentwhisper.net/upload0/AnkhegAttack.JPG)
Today with met none but a soon-to-be god! His name was Tiax (somehow I get the feeling that he'll land himself in an Asylum one day... :hmm: (http://files.upl.silentwhisper.net/upload0/Tiax--Ascending.JPG)
Foul Doppelganger's! Face my wrath. (http://files.upl.silentwhisper.net/upload0/Doppelganger.JPG)
I shall have to teach Tiax some about aiming (http://files.upl.silentwhisper.net/upload2/BadAim.JPG)
 Still so frickin many of them! (http://files.upl.silentwhisper.net/upload0/JustKickMe.JPG)
Oops! Hehe accidentally killed Garrick while confused. (http://files.upl.silentwhisper.net/upload2/ooops.JPG)

Thus far
By Helm! What are These foul beasts? (http://files.upl.silentwhisper.net/upload0/AnkhegAttack.JPG) Within seconds, their devastating “spit” attack slew Eldoth. He stood absolutely helpless against them! Pure luck secured our victory in the end, of that I am sure.

At the bridge to the great city of Baldur's Gate, we encountered a Flaming Fist mercenary. He wished to know from where we came. As I answered Candlekeep, he ordered us to wait where we stood, till his commander, a man named Scar, came to speak with us.

Scar wanted us to investigate the Seven Suns, a trading coster, as the owner Jhasso, an old friend of Scar's, has been acting strange as of late. We agreed on this. The web's of the Iron Throne reaches far, as much do I know by now, and it would nay surprise me if they had a finger, or maybe the whole hand within the cookie can that is the Seven Suns!

Just outside of the city gates we met a rather peculiar gnome named Quayle. As he was heading the same way as us, I agreed to take him along.

Within the City, Elminster approached me once again. What is it with this man, I ask? Is he stalking me? Well, as usual he had some, though minor, advices for me: Scar and Duke Eltan was to be trusted. Guess that's always good to know.

--Tonight I had another nightmare. Or was it a nightmare? I feel that these dreams try to tell me something, some- I don't know, something important, nonetheless. Yet do they fill me with feelings I'd never felt before. They feel good, yet why do I keep feeling that I should not feel good about feeling them? *sigh* I'm going in circles

I decided to finally kick out Eldoth. He had served as the tool I needed through the mine, I'm positive that better allies than he can be found in Baldur's Gate (one bard is enough! Nuf's said :p ).

WOW! I say... Today with met none but a soon-to-be god! (http://files.upl.silentwhisper.net/upload0/Tiax--Ascending.JPG) I dared nought but to take him along, who would want him as enemy once he has ascended?

A merchant within the Seven Suns told me that Jhasso had gone missing, and he knew not to where. Sound suspicious to me.

Doppelgangers! (http://files.upl.silentwhisper.net/upload0/Doppelganger.JPG) These fouls creatures has overtaken the management of the Seven Suns. I bet the keeps Jhasso somewhere around here.
I found Jhasso in the basement. Seems my theory was right, they needed to keep him so that they draw information out of him.

Scar was more than happy to learn we had not only freed Jhasso, but dispatched the doppelganger invasion to boot! However, he had another task for us: Every night lately, people had gone missing. He suspects that the reason lies within the sewers, and would want us to go check it out.
I'm soon going quite weary of this! When will we get some results concerning the Iron Throne? For now, however, I'm willingly to do his bidding, though only so much...

Within the sewers we found a pack of Carrion Crawlers. Those are surly the many-legged creatures that Scar was talking about. However our master mind Quayle told us that he doubted they would have done this by themselves, someone must have trained them to enter the city.
Tiax got of an Entangle spell, I shall have to teach him some about aiming (http://files.upl.silentwhisper.net/upload2/BadAim.JPG) one of the days  .
We got the beats lured out one by one with some effort. They managed to hold Quayle and Garrick, but we got them before the could get any serious hits in!
 Still so frickin many of them! (http://files.upl.silentwhisper.net/upload0/JustKickMe.JPG) Sigh, I guess it's back to work, then.

We finally faced the Ogre Mage himself. Well, this could 'ave gone better! (http://files.upl.silentwhisper.net/upload2/ooops.JPG) The Ogre got of a confusion spell before we could do anything! Though the Ogre himself went down easy enough, I accidentally killed Garrick

Scar was overjoyed as when we learned that the Ogre had been dealt with. He asked us to meet him outside, away from prying ears if we wanted to discuss the Iron Throne. Finally! Now we may have some answers.

None other but the Grand Duke Eltan himself wished audience with us! If anyone could help us, it was the grand duke...
Joyous day! Duke Eltan will pay us 2000Gp for breaking in into the Iron Throne Head Quarters, a thing we'd done sooner or later anyways!

As we entered the Iron Throne, a scared man warned us that we should fly, and that the placed was filled with madness. Needless to say we didn't heed his warning all that much. I know something's rotten within the Iron Throne, which is why I came here to begin with.

A guard approached us, asking what business we had within the Iron Throne. We told him we came from Sembia, and wanted to talk to the leaders. Unfortunately he didn't believe us. *sigh*
We had to kill both him and the merchants within the entering hall - surly, we could not allow witnesses to live and warn the leaders!

Dra'tan, a guard, warned us that one time he'd seen a man come down with brown eyes, as he spotted Dra'tan lookin' at him, he winked and suddenly his eyes went silver, and then mercury.
I'd better heed his words, good fellow he was and is – one of the few within this cursed tower who can rightfully say they don't have to fear me.

On the third floor another guard approached us. This time we tried to convince him we came from Comnyr... The result was exactly the same as last time.

On our way upwards we'd learned that the leaders was on the fifth floor, so we prepared, said a prayer to Tiax, and went up....

Shar is NOT a drow-godess, she is the evil Goddes of Darkness, Loss and Night's horrors, and eternal enemy of her good twin sister, Silvery Selune, Goddes of Moon, Stars, Good Lycanthropes, and Travelers. Read the in-game mini book called 'Sisters of Light and Darkness' to know about them, they are among the oldest gods, and mother(s) of Mystra, Selune also managed to bring life to Toril despite her vile sister's efforts.

Anyway, your scripts look really bugged, why does Xan say 'Checkmate! At least, the witch is dead!' upon Sir Garrick's death? I think this must be what Edwin must say upon Minsc's witch's death. (what was her name? Dynahair or something?) I KNOW he hated that witch. But for what reason, I don't know. (do not tell me OK?)

Does your Xan act like Edwin, and Safana like Viccy? Now this is a problem. At least, Xan was not evil IIRC from the lovely tutoriial of BG2.

Well, dunno this party might be dead for good (I've had and have way to many things to worry about for this to be of importance). Morover I don't think the last save-game exists anymore (though if I ever find it hidden on one of the CD-ROM's I used to save stuff when I last formatted my computer, then a resurrection may happen one o' the days).
