Well, due to my moderate prowess with a sound editor, I've decided to ask you, the community, which character you'd like to have a soundset of. I'll edit any character, within reason, who exists in the game. Example, Raelis Shai, my next project. So, any ideas? I'll take some from TOB as well.

How about Drizzt's voice. Or Aran Lanville. For a female, what about Phaere the drow. :rolling:

You already have an Aran soundset on SP, such as it can be.

I don't know if I should be insulted. I tried my best. It's not easy to butcher a soundset from pre-existing characters. And if somebody else has done it with ease, I don't care. *pouts*

I know, I wasn't blaming you. My point is, Aran hardly has enough sound to make a decent soundset from.

The point is, that I tried. And that's all that matters in the end. Oh well, it doesn't look like anyone much is interested in soundsets. I'll just get back onto Raelis, and planning my NPC.

Hey hey, for some reason my yesterday post isn't here. Did I close the window before it sent it or something?

I'm definitely interested. A Raelis Shai soundpack would be really good, definitely the right voice for an attractive female character. What I really want, however, would be something that sounded as much Vin Diesel as possible. A soundpack that was neutral in the sense of being a fitting choice for both the cool good guy or cool bad guy type. With an attitude. Of course. And it can't sound like an uneducated idiot. But fit both normal and high intelligence chars.

I have no idea of the precise limitations of making a soundpack etc. But something like that would be really awesome. A bass-voice much like the one Sarevok has, but even more deep and a bit more restrained.

You got at least one that is interested. :)

Ehhh... Who, or what, is Vin Diesel? And also, I'm only making soundsets based off characters already in the game. Mind you, I could also probably make a new Minsc soundset based on all the sounds I've found that AREN'T in the game. I dunno... Back to work on Raelis. No idea when she'll be done though, I only just got back up and running.

Vin diesel is an actor that was in the fast and the furious, saving private ryan and pitch black.

As for soundsets, ive learnt to leave it to the profesionals. The current Aran Linvale (yours?) is too incomplete for use in the game. For BG2 soundsets, you need at least 40 sounds. For IWD2, you need about 30. Even including all the possible sounds, with acute processing, Aran Linvale would be an incomplete soundset. Try including Renal MAeval ect. and just call it a shadow theif. Easy.

Looking at the files, Khazraj seems to be the main offender. HE has all of the programs, and all of his stuff seems to be well thought out and planned. It is alot easier to work on the NPCs in the game. The sounds are there. Unfortunatly, he's done them all. Soundsets seem well covererd unfortunatly. Try working on something else.

Sorry.
Cheers.

Koveras.

I have found that if you cut out the words from a long sound file and use some imagination with the files, you can come up with great and more complete soundsets. If you have a fairly complete one of Raalis Shai for BG2, I'd love it. I fear that it may be hard to do.

As an aside, they are a lot easier to make for IWD2. You could get some good practice. And try and do a good one for Minsc. I'll get it when you are done.

All the best.
