I also love energy blades... kill anything with those, especially spellprotectd critters/mages/dragons and whatnots. What would be a cool special ability? Well, ever watch bugs bunny as a kid? You know those black holes they had, and could make quick exits with? I wouldn't mind being able to cast one of those black hole thingys. Be fun! void Sun, 3rd Feb '02, 9:53am Energy blades, whirlwind attack (preferably greater) and use any item are all solid choices, I'd avoid scribe scroll and alchemy though... jbigdaddy Sun, 3rd Feb '02, 11:29am I love use any item the most, but greater wirlwind with an archer is also cool. I like your idea strange machine, I remember the black hole thing, it was pretty cool. It would be cool to have a critical hit skill. Where you could target a certain body part or limb, chop someones arm off or something like that. Viking Sun, 3rd Feb '02, 11:45am Sick, sick, sick. If you're a Mage, Shadow Door is pretty much what you asked for isn't it? Wildfire Sun, 3rd Feb '02, 12:52pm Ranger tracking rocks! Lord Sarevok Sun, 3rd Feb '02, 12:59pm Hmm, I've only used the mage ones so far, and my favorite has to be comet; if only for the graphics. I was in a 1 vs 1 mage fight with Irenicus using my soloing assassin/mage(level 13/23 I think, but it's not cheating cause he's level 30!) and I cast improved alracity, then a barrage of magic missles, followed by a comet that totally sent him flying against the wall! I should have saved a screen shot, it was hilarious. But improved alracity is definatly a better spell. With items like the Robe of Vecna and Amulet of Power, you can shoot off your whole spell book before it wears off! You know, that sort of holes exist in Forgotten Realms. Such hole is used in a book written by R.A. Salvatore. Cool skill... Hmm... I'll return to that later. Ara (Said all already, right?) Viking Mon, 4th Feb '02, 12:01pm Try summon planetar for a bit of beefy backup. Then try another one... Says can only have one. Hmm, project image, 5 planetars for the price of a 7th level spell. Boy can they do some radical damage! Back them up with protection busting where needed and I'm a one man army. McWeasel Mon, 4th Feb '02, 3:30pm Greater Whirlwind, Improved Alactricity With Greater Whirlwind, I made the so called "Prince of Demons" Dogmeat in about 40 seconds, (Eat it up Helm). Also, Timestop+Improved Alactricity+Lower Resistance+Abi Dalzim's Horrid Wilting = Dragon meat on a sharp stick. jbigdaddy Tue, 5th Feb '02, 5:42am What makes ranger tracking so good? Ragusa Tue, 5th Feb '02, 7:24am My fav abilities are: Use any item (turns even plain theives into assistant spellcasters), greather deatblow (for improved hasted archers) and the additional-mage-spellslots (for multiclassed mages). A rangers tracking is great :D you can stand beneath a dead dragon and he'll find dragon traces ... seriously: he can give a hint about enemies in an area, combined with an paladin's detect evil this will give you a good clue about what to think of a rabbit with magic resistance :D and when your main char has low int and wis he can help you solve one of the quests in Saradush.
