View Full Version : Cernd's child quest
Jarel Fri, 25th Apr '03, 7:05pm Hi everybody,I'm a fresh italian newbie and this the first topic I post,so please be kind! :p
I recently discovered that there's a bug with Cernd's quest not beginning if I recruit him at high level, and I would like to try solving this creating his old friend (the one that should appear in the city) with the CLUAConsole.Does anybody know the code for this NPC?
Another question:I know this bug is solved with SPfixpack, but this one is incompatible with ToB installed and with the Baldurdashfixpack (wich I both have):can I somehow select the single file to put in the override folder to solve it?
Thanks to everybody reading

8people Fri, 25th Apr '03, 8:54pm Welcome to the boards
Have you tried travelling athkatla, look around o see if there are any NPCs near the exits that weren't there before.
LKD Fri, 25th Apr '03, 9:05pm How high a level are you talking here, Nicolas? If you recruited Cernd after defeating Irenicus and are now in ToB, Cernd's quest, like those of the rest of the group, will not start!
Jarel Fri, 25th Apr '03, 9:19pm I've looked around in Athkatla for some new NPC but I couldn't see any (anyway,he should approach the group by himself).
Even if I'm at level 20 with my berserker,I'm still playing in chapter 6 of SoA,so I didn't even enter the elven city.
I hope somebody can help me with the creature code or with a single solve-bug file.
Thanks again guys!
8people Fri, 25th Apr '03, 10:37pm I'd help with creature codes If I still had them with me, however I can only suggest making another game and seeing getteing Cernd and returning to find the persons name then looking it up on IE, or dare it be said, Shadowkeeper, however only look up the name and code of the person and summon him into your own game.
I said to look around because sometimes party banter can override scripts for the person to approach and speak to you.
An example:
Edwin returning to his male state, wizard was about to speak but then Viconia asked him about whether rumours about his sex life were trure and I had to kill the wizard without any more dialogues.
Jarel Sat, 26th Apr '03, 2:28am Ok,I FINALLY got the name of the NPC and its right code, but the trick obviously didn't work..... :bang:
My last chance is to ask the Extremist if I can somehow install a file from SPfixpack without having to install it all....I hope he's a cool guy as his nick would suggest.... :help:
Taluntain Sat, 26th Apr '03, 12:58pm He is. Just send him a PM and he'll get back to you. Preferrably in this topic, as this would probably help out other people too.
Extremist Sat, 26th Apr '03, 9:33pm I've thought of mailing you the files, but Tal's post made me to think about solving this in the best way. Anyway, it seems that someone else noticed the same thing too. Check this site for the fix specifically ment for Cernd:

Jarel Sun, 27th Apr '03, 1:21pm Now I know:the Extremist RULES. :D
Last thing I have to do is ask the guy who made the fix how do I create new scripts and what do I exactly have to do with the three files I downloaded,AND I'M DONE!!!! :thumb:
Extremist Sun, 27th Apr '03, 9:41pm Just unzip those files to BG2 subfolder called override. You don't need to make any script by yourself.
Jarel Sun, 27th Apr '03, 11:08pm You are almost right Extremist:after a couple of "experiments" I discovered that you also need to copy the cerndfix.bs file in the scripts folder, and then activate the AI of Cernd with the new custom script and press E.I finally did the quest,YUPPIEEEE!!!!
Extremist Mon, 28th Apr '03, 12:07am Huh? That fix is not like mine then. Well, better than nothing, right? ;)
