I've yet to play very far into ToB, and I'm not sure what magical weapons are in it. So what are some good choices in weapons for an Assassin(or any thief for that matter)?

View Full Version : Long Term Weapon Proficencies for an Assassin Lord Sarevok Thu, 7th Feb '02, 6:43am I've yet to play very far into ToB, and I'm not sure what magical weapons are in it. Anyway, if you're playing a pure assasin I don't think it matters cos you can only place one slot of proficiencies in a thief kit. In ToB, a thief can handle a crossbow, including a great one. I always use melee weapons though, and that being long swords and katanas. This neat dagger has a 15% chance of making the attacker invisible for one minute after each successful hit. You know what that means, aren't you? It's just perfect for an assassin. Ragusa Fri, 22nd Feb '02, 11:10am Daggers, darts and shortswords are my thief weapons of choice for ToB. These are about my fav thief weapons for ToB: -Dagger of the star +5 is awesome, as mentioned above -the returning dart is very effective as well, finally it's a +3 weapon, so it can hit most enemies - with 3 attacks per round and a shield/ buckler. -the imporved shortsword of mask also is a formidable backstabbing weapon, not at last due to the level drain ability. Of course, improved Angurvalad's longsword with str-22 is neat too ... |
