Hey all, first post here... I've looked for this topic all over the boards and haven't been able to find it, so here goes.
The Rod of Resurrection doesn't seem to work at ALL for me, nor does Jaheira's Harper's Call. Neither ever has worked throughout my BGII games. Whenever a party member died, I dealt with it by reloading, but now I'm faced with a mini-quest in the (newly-installed) ToB expansion that expects me to raise this kid's dad. Have a Rod of Resurrection, have equipped it on nearly every party member except maybe Haer'Dalis, can't even select the kid's dad('s corpse)--the moon-stars icon doesn't even light up around him. It does so quite cheerfully around any living character, but that's sort of, well, useless.
Is this a bug? Is some uber-god handing down judgment on me by refusing my requests to raise characters? There isn't even any way to pick up the bodies to carry to a temple, for crying out loud... Since it's never worked, I haven't bothered trying for months, but now it seems bleedin' obvious that it should work.
Any ideas? Sigh...
