The bandit raid isn't happening. I've done the quest for Xzar, and I don't know what else to do. I've rested in the various outdoor areas, which you're meant to do to get the raid, but nothing happens. What else might I need to do, and can I use SK to get things going?

Are you sure bandit thing is the next love talk? You need to advance a lot in the romance talks in order for the bandit plot to occur IIRC. Check your love talk value, what is it?

I used the Romance Guide from here to double check, and the raid is definitely the next part of the romance, as the last lovetalk I had is the one immediately before the raid.

Did you get rid of baron Ployer? If you didn't, that could maybe be the solution to the problem.

I remember the first time the raid happened to me. I took a nap outside De'Arnise keep(which was my stronghold by then, and I prefer starshine to cold stone of the castle), and when I woke up, bandits were there. They have guts, I'll give them that much :p Naturaly, the first thing I had it done after the raid was execution of the guards. Damn lazzy asses :p

And I've managed to fix the problem. I used the cheat console to jumpstart the bandit quest, and it all worked out.

I don't have the multiple romances part of EoU installed. Even though it's 'just' a game, I'm still a one elf person.

And it's the romance guide here that helped me figure out that I should have had the bandit encounter already.

Good thing that Jaheira's only a half elf then right?
