I have a 26th Level Human Sorcerer with an Intelligence of 19 (increased with the machine in Level 4 of Watcher's Keep). Anyways, it says in the manual that I am suppose to be able to only cast 6 spells for each level. However, I can cast 7 spells for each level.

Does anyone know if this is a bug in the game or if the 19 intelligence gives you an additional spell (the manual doesn't say anything about this.) or is the TOB Sorcerer spell progression incorrect?

Well, it may be a bug i'm not sure, however, i dont think intelligence has anything to do with the sorcerers ability to cast spell. I think charisma is the stat of concern? i may be wrong.

Hmm, that is really odd. When a Sorcerer is maxed out he should have 6 spell casts of every level per day...

On a side note, don't you find it annyoing that Edwin can cast more spells than your PC Sorcerer? And don't give me that Thayvian Wizard crap, I'm a Child of Bhaal baby!

He gets daft bonuses to his spells.

Only one thing for it. He dies. Now who can cast the most eh, eh, eh?

BTW are you sure it's every level? Lots of bonus spells to be had from rings etc. Ring of aquity (I think) + ring of wizardry would give 7 for all levels from 2-7. Bit of headgear and a certain amulet would increase some levels to 8. Wouldn't swap my amulet of power though. Sod the extra level 2 spell.

I got the answer, I suppose.

If your sorcerer is at lvl 26 you should likely have taken all the mage high level abilities. there is an ability of casting an additional level 6 spell(as well as a bonus level 7 and level 8 spell). That is the answer, your intelligence has nothing to do with the amount of spells you can cast.

I took into account all the magic items, spell bonuses that would increase my sorcerer's spell table. I still get seven per level. I know there are no magic items to increase 9th level spells and I can cast 7 of those.

Neat! I'm soloing a sorcerer at the moment. When you find out how, let me be the first to know! 7 level nine's. Beatuiful. Still only 4 picks tho' I assume?

Hey, on the subject, At lvl31 how manny spells does a sorcerer cast, and how many can a mage cast? I mean like a sorcerer can cast 6 lvl9 spells as early as lvl20, so what about the mage on lvl31?

Look in your ToB manual, it has lists of every spellcaster's spells per level.

I have not bought TOB yet, which is why im inquiring if i should be a mage or sorcerer, though right now i am sure im gonna be a sorcerer unless the mage can cast a similar amount of spells due to level gaining.

I have the SOA manual and it says nothing of sorcerer tables, just wizard ones.

The tables for a sorcerer are listed in the Complete BG2 & ToB walkthrough you can download here on SP, unless I'm mistaken.

Did we ever find this out? I've abandoned WK at level 4 to be revisited in TOB, so I've not tried the int upgrade. Would still be very interested in the extra spells though, if anyone have any thoughts.
