Ok, after killing that caged changing demon, i used the portal and went down where I met the Yakster... now i know if you read his journal, you should end somewhere near the cambion right? well... i thought id try a different way and went west instead of east and kept on running into the portal (3 times i think) and i also met the Cambion.. anyway... after all that gambling.. i killed him and got that stone and all that... problem is... the stone still wont open that portal.. and each time i go out the other portal, there is this demon wraith and all his slave wraiths around... now... everytime sarevok goes to kill the demon wraith.. he'd step on some traps and its always Imoen and Edwin dieing although they didnt step on the trap... anyway... I think this is where the broken portal is but I can seem to defeat that wraith and all his slaves... also... ive put Imoen in the centre of my party to detect traps while the rest fended her off... she found no traps...

there was once I made it all the way with all my characters making sufficient save vs death throws but just after i killed the cambion, a slave killed my own character..

so help me..

this level is a pain in the ass, and takes loads of patience to do. A wardstone doesn't get you out of the level. After the first time you talk to yakman in the first room, he runs off. In one of the later rooms, you'll find him again and he mentions a rod that is broken and needs to be fixed. The rod is in a heap of junk in the room with him, and needs 3 gems to be activated. The cambion has one of them, but the other denizens of the dungeon have the other two.

Since the mirrors don't send you in the same direction as you're traveling when you go through them, I had to label each exit in each room until I knew I had been to every room in the level to find all the gems. Then I followed yakman's journal again to get to the cambion room, and voila! The broken portal is indeed in the room with the cambion.

Oh and by the way, I beat the demon wraith by standing in place and fending off his minions while my thief (while invisible) disarmed all the traps. But you have to do it quick, unless you have a lot of melee power.
Good luck.

If you follow Yakman's journal, you will find the way out as well as the other two gems (at least I did).

As for the Demon Wraith, I ignored everthing but him and pounded him into the ground. I think I tripped maybe one of the traps, but it didn't seem to do much; I disarmed them all after he was dead.

thanx.. I think I'll reload this time and kill those thieflings instead of letting her kiss me and lead me to the broken portal..
